More than likely it has a 700r4. full size trucks came from the factory with that transmission. most t350's came in mid size cars

I have a 1990 Chevy Suburban 1500 4X4 with a 700r4 and it just will not go in to drive or reverse in 2wheel drive but when in 4wheel drive it moves in drive but it does move at all in reverse. What is...

Transfer case is bad. My first guess. If the transmission were bad it wouldn't move at any position. Is there any noise? You have 4 possibilities, Front and rear differentials, transfer case, and the transmission.

I have a 700R4 in a 1990 Chevy 4x4 the transmission was working in another truck I put it in mine and now it changes gear 1-2-3 but it won't change into overdrive don't have nutural it's drive and reverse...

Overdrive is a function of the torque converter. When you put the transmission in the vehicle you should have change the seals and rings on the shaft. The transmission fluid travels through that. Also check the linkages and the connections.

700r4 transmission won't shift from 2nd to 3rd in my 1989 Chevy K2500 and I don't have reverse lights anymore either.

Check to make sure you have power down to the transmission. A wiring diagram will be extremely helpful.

Whats the stall rate for a torque convertor for a 1990 chevy k2500

Hi.
Good question as many stall are about 3000+ RPM. GM used many different speeds and the one associated with your particular truck is associated with your VIN NUMBER. SO -
Take down the VIN # - go to the DEALER = [ much friendlier in person] - ask them which transmission you have AND - what is the STALL SPEED.

Good Luck

I am wondering which transmissions will fit a 1997 GMC 2500. The truck currently has a 4l80E trans that is bad. Will a 700R4 fit?

Unless you want to do a lot of work i would find another 4l80E or rebuild yours. 700r4 is not electronic shift and you have no connection for the shift cable. And if you get a electronic 700r4 (4L60E) The plugs are completely different and you would need to change the whole engine harness and ecm.

What transmission is in a 1990 corvette?I think it is a 700r4?and if yes will any 700r4 fit ?

No there are different 700R4 transmission, well that not quite true. The 700R4 had many jobs to matted to Corvettes to SUVs, the internals are where the differences were in the 700R4 such as the servo's and boost valve which can be easily replaced. Best thing to do is to got to a Transmission shop that can build a transmissions for your Corvette or buy a replacement 700R4 for your year of Corvette. That is why the shift points and firmness are different in a Corvette then a Cadillac while they both have 700R4 in the 1990's. Be bad for a Corvette to shift like Grandma's Cadillac going to play dingo. Good luck and hope this helps.
