Difficulty filling tank 04 chevy HD2500

What can i say it takes about 20 minuts to fill up on a half tank

    thanks i changed purge valve on intake for 39.37 no luck. but you hit it on the head with evap canister located on the gas tank it was plugged., replaced for 28.27 BOTH DEALER ITEMS THANK YOU THUNDERGOD

    check purge valve in evap system if remaining closed, air can't escape when fuel is going in.

Have a good look at filler pipe under, follow from fill door to tank & look for a kink in any hoses. Only other thing is it possible someone dropped something down the filler pipe?

Fuel gauge registers only half full after fill up. Replaced sensor, fuel pump sending unit and instrument gauges. BMW Z 4. 2003
There is nothing else to replace ... presuming you did everything correctly and the replacement parts were not faulty, I suggest you live with it. Keep track of the miles you drive and fill up when you have driven about 1/2 the estimated miles per tank for best results. I.E.: you get 10 MPG - your tank is 20 gallons = 200 miles per tank ... fill up every 100 or so miles.

OR

You could take it to the BMW place and let them fix it.

2000 CHEVY S-10 FULL TANK OF GAS ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AT HALF TANK LIGHT GOES OUT WHY?
You may be overfilling the tank. The fuel tank is connected to a vapor recovery system. If you over fill it it will be drawn into the recovery system and kick the engine light on. By the time you have run a half a tank of fuel thru it, it has cleared. Try stopping the fuel fill when the nozzle kicks off and not trying to get that extra 2 dollars worth in it and see if the helps.

scrappy I hope you fixed your problemssince last post. Sorry to be gone for soooo long. Have you check your fuel tank? I had an old 1963 chevy that over the coarse of years that filled the bottom of the tank with dirt and what have you. It would run for 15-20 minutes and shut off. After it sat for about 10 minutes it would settle back to the bottom and I could drive again for 10=15 minutes. It drove me crazyuntil I had a radiator shop vat the fuel tank. Let me know if you fixed the problem....it has been a month since I last logged on....sorry.
