Question about 2004 Honda Civic

1 Answer

2004 Civic not starting

I have replaced the battery in my civic and it still on some days will not start without a boost, I have had it in to the dealer and they can find nothing wrong. The car runs OK after starting with a boost and the battery check fine.Is this an issue with the IMA syatem or the starter.

Could be a "lazy" starter motor, I know that mine suffered with a "odd starting problem".
If the motor cranks, but not fast enough to fire up, then that is probably it.

Check battery voltage,it should be at least 12.7 V with the vehicle not running and 14V to 15V with the car running.Try a boost/jump start from another car and clean battery cables.

Reversed the boost

you (at the least ) blew 1 or many fuses,
you do that and risk blowing up a fortune on electronics.
its not 60 Chev, that is so forgiving...

fuses: (ijm at alldata.com looking)
fuse 19, 80amps engine bay fuse box. bam?
are the head lights dead, they work all the time, even keys in pockets.
are they part of nothing.
then... that means... fuse 19 is bad.
open the fuse box in the engine bay see those.
they will all be dead, and 19 toast.
i just use a voltemeter to find which are blown.
starting there, then working to the cab box.
12v good
0v bad, key on

04onda civic when driving it it just died and wont start does nothing lights wont come on it did it before and a day later it started battery is good

Your problem sounds like a dirty or loose battery term either on + or - or dirty fuse or relay problem.
So start the engine in Park and open the bonnet and play with the battery wires plus any relays and fuses in box to see if the lights and engine stop if not then take it to the auto elect shop as it can cause a problem in the Alternator.

Car won't start even with a new battery

it sounds like one of the main fuses blew. is there any chance someone tried to boost the car and maybe got the cables on backwards?

2002 civic won't start

Sounds like your battery is low-- is it the original battery? if so it may be time for a new one.
Try jump starting it yet?

Car will not start, all of a sudden. When key is in ignition and turned there is a clicking noise. overhead light will come on, but not headlights

The battery contacts are dirty, causing heat which causes resistance.
Disconnect the battery cables and clean the cable clamps and the battery posts.
You probably will not need a boost to start your engine.

Your battery is stone dead. Once started, the alternator keeps it running.
