Question about 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera

Water runs down window into doors ,1995 olds ceria,can't locate replace parts,called window sweeps,belt mouldings,,window sliders

Yes you have a tough issue to resolve. If you have access to a local auto salvage yard you could look there for chevy celebrity, buick century, as they were build on the same body style so any of those models would have the same belt moulding. Also E-bay or craigs list are great places to locate parts. I do not know if GM service parts would carry these parts any more as they only have to carry them for 7 model years after the last vehicle run. Good luck.

1987 mustang GT convertible windows do not move up and down smoothly. also when removing the drivers side panal the switchs stop working except for the door lock switch.


Get a can of spray Silicone and spray the channels that the glass runs in, soak it good and then operate the windows to distribute the Silicone, that should help, if no then the window regulators may need to be lubed at the pivot points. DO NOT GET THE SILICONE ON THE PLASTIC TRIM PARTS, USE MASKING OF SOME SORT.

Window regulator replacement in 1988 olds cutlass calais (non-motor). How do I replace the window regualtor?


1985-1998 Oldsmobile Grand Am/Achieva/Calais/Skylark/Somerset
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

Door Glass and (manual) Regulator

See Figure 1

SEE ILLUSTRATION #1 BELOW

1. Remove the door panel.
2. Remove the water deflector from the door.
Be careful not to tear the water deflector when removing it from the door.
The "water deflector" is also known as the "dew wiper"
3. Connect the power window switch/window regulator handle.
4. Lower window to full down position.

CAUTION
Use extreme caution when operating the window with the door panel removed. The window regulator can cause severe personal injury if body parts become entangled in the mechanism.
5. Remove the window run channel.
6. Move window to the half down position.
7. Remove the window retaining nuts.
8. While holding onto the window, lower the regulator to the full down position.
9. Remove the window by sliding it towards the rear and rotating the front of the window upward.

To install:
10. Position the new window in the door.
11. While holding onto window move regulator to half up position.
12. Install the nuts. Roll the window to the full up position.
13. Install the rear run channel.
14. Install the plastic water deflector. If necessary, secure with waterproof adhesive
15. Install the door trim panel.

Window Regulator

1. Remove the door panel.
2. Remove the plastic window deflector. Be careful not to tear the deflector when removing it from the door.
3. Remove the door window assembly.
4. Remove the bolts securing the regulator to the door.
5. Remove the nuts securing the upper regulator guide.
6. Using a 1/4 in. drill, drill out the regulator rivets.
7. If equipped with power windows, detach the electrical connector.
8. Remove the regulator through the large access hole in door.

To install.
9. Install the regulator to the door, and attach the electrical connector if equipped with power windows.
10. While holding the regulator to the inner door panel, insert the rivets, and secure them with a rivet tool.
11. Fasten the regulator bolts and upper guide nuts.
12. Install the door glass, and inside door plastic panel.
13. Install the inside door trim panel.
14. Install the plastic water deflector. If necessary, secure with waterproof adhesive.
15. Install the door trim panel.

I'm trying to replace a 1989 passenger ranger window


you will have to 1st remove your inside door handle and window crank handle, if manual, if it is electric, then you will have to remove door panel, and disconnect the wires that go to the window, and etc. on top of the area where the top of door panel is a rubber moulding, in some instances , moulding would have to be removed, if more room for window removal is necessary. "once you are inside the door, you will most likely see a paper or some type of insulation pad, some call them dust covers, you might need to remove it , if necessary, then locate the fasteners that hold the window into the window regulator, some will have to be removed in order to get the window out of regulator, once window is free, and pulled out, installation is the reverse.

I need to replace the hinges on the back (not rear seat) window, they are located on the top of the roof connected to the window, but cannot figure out what they are called, so hence cannot locate them in...


I've got the same problem with my 96 jimmy. The hinges are encased in some kind of hard moulded rubber. That's the only thing that holds them to the window. They are not replaceable. You may be able to remove the window and use a 2 part epoxy to duplicaate the original moulding. It would have to be really thick and would take a long time to cure, so you wouldn't have a back window for 2 or 3 days. The only other thing you can do is replace the whole window.

The moulding where the bottom of the window meets the door is cracked on my 1998 Toyota Corolla. How do I find replacement parts. Also, the "toyota" emblems needs to be replaced...where to find these...


You can pick up a used items possibly at the junk yard else you will need to get it at the dealer. You are looking for the "belt moulding" if you are calling the wreckers. Good luck!

Moldy smell coming from Chrysler Town & Country doors


Try this...Mix a solution of 1/2 tap water, 1/2 isopropyl alcohol...about 1 quart - total should be sufficient. Put your window all the way down and where the glass drops BELOW the rubber moulding at the top of the door, take a kitchen funnel and push in-between the moulding/door panel and pour the solution into the door. Water should run out of the bottom of the door...IF it doesn't, one or all of the "ports" built into the bottom of the door are plugged...causing mold buildup in the door and creating your "smell" Locate these "ports" at the bottom of the edge of the door and clean them out with small STIFF wire. If the door drains water as it should - the alcohol will kill the mold in the door and the excess will run out...no harm will be done.

Door moulding need fixing back on door


this moulding should be glued on go to the local body supply store and get some 3m trim adhesive, some parts stores may carry this ,remember to remove any old glue.hope this helps if not get back to me please rate my fix as i strive to be the best

Power window driver side door


you could possibly need the harness connection but also the main window motor and maybe belt check inside door to see if you need these items if so worst case maybe $100 max
