SOURCE: 2000 Toyota Sienna passenger side door won't close

I too had this problem. The first several times i tried the reset process (page 23 of the owners manual) it made no difference.

It appeared to me that the computer did not properly know where the door was actually located. like you , my door would not close. in fact, base on the sound, it sounded like it was trying to open when it was already open. I knew i had to figure out a way to "trick" the computer into relearning where the door was.. as crazy as it sounds

With the battery on, I opened the door with the button, before it could open fully, i closed it again with the button. I did this several times. I also experiment with shutting off the power (using the on/off button) in mid operation. Eventually it would close but pop back open again. At this point, I then did the reset procedure and it worked!

I am not a mechanic but a pretty decent electronic/computer guy. All i know is it worked!

:)

SOURCE: Toyota error code P2118

I don't have a Sienna but I do have a 2008 Toyota Camry SE. After it being in the garage for many months, 8 months I think, I had to give the battery a jump to finally start it up. Well The jumper cables I used weren't that great. They flickered and seemed to smoke a little. So i removed them and put a better set on to get a charge. I didn't think anything of it. After that charge came through and i was able to accelerate at all... The throttle was to the floor and the car would not even go up .5 RPMs... After several days and talking to the dealer, I was about to call a Tow to have it taken to the dealer. Luckily my friend came by with one of those diagnostic readers and it spit out the P2118 error code. Immediately we looked it up and found this site. Thanks to Fixya.com I was able to determine that it was a freakin measly fuse that blew due to bad jumper cables... Thank god for the Fuse and thank you to Fixya.com that I was able to determine this so quickly!!!

2001 SIENNA XLE SEEMS HOT AIR DOOR NOT CLOSING ALL THE WAY. HOW DO I REMOVE THE LOWER FINISH PANEL TO INSPECT THE SERVO MOTOR AND PLASTIC ARMS?

Remove the under dash panel screws

I always check scan tool data for that module, to
see if there is any data, some vehicles do & some don't

Then you look at manufacture prints, before you go under
the dash

Have to know what things look like & where they are

Need to find the problem first

Then go after the correct motor/servo

Much water under front carpet of 2002 Toyota Sienna. seems to coming from up under dash on firewall I think, what say you.

If the Water smells like Antifreeeze then it is your HEATER CORE

If the water smells like Water or Dirty Water, then you have a LEAK.

Here is a TRICK..

Get an Aresol Can of WINDOW CLEANER.... Spray completely around your Windshield on OUTSIDE EDGES... YOU WANT IT FOAMY.

Get an AIR HOSE and BLOW the Windshield from the INSIDE and see where the leak is coming from.....

It has ALWAYS worked for me

I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna. Recently I lost the

All of those are tied into the same fuses or they are tied in somewhere under the dash, You can get a fuse tester for a couple of dollars if you dont have a meter to see if th fuses are good you should be able to pull the fuses and see if they are bad. Dont forget when you check the fuses in the car, make sure and check the fuses and the relays in the fuse box under the hood.

How to replace bulbs for ac/ heater control unit

1. Remove the dash around radio (just clips)
2. Remove 2 screws pointing up . (You do not need to remove screws which are parallel to the floor)
3. Remove screw pointing up on the bottom of the dashboard on left side of the driver (near left leg).
4. Remove 2 screws pointing up in the instrument cluster area.
5. Put car in 1st gear and gently remove black plastic surrounding instruments (it will have ait vents, so slide it carefully out not to damage foam insulation on air ducts; start on the bottom hear steering column) ; unplug connectors to clock and emergency flashers.
6. Remove 2 screws, now exposed, near instrument area, holding dashboard. (that was what I spent most time on, I didn't know about this screws.
7. Now gently remove (or move up) dashboard (around instrument cluster and heating controls.) Start next to ignition (careful not to damage the bulb next to the ignition.
Since you only need to get to the heating controls block, I only move up the dashboard next to it.
8. Remove 2 screws that hold the heating control and slide heating control out . This step is unnecessary If you totally removed the dashboard.
9. Pull out lever controls for fan speed, zone and temp
10. Use the screwdriver (flat) to pry 2 plastic tabs on top and on the bottom of heating control so black cover can be remover.
11. You did it! two bulbs are going to be under the cover.
