SOURCE: 1994 Land Rover Discovery is not running on all 8 cylinders.

there are 3 things needed for combustion fuel, compression, and spark. if you are missing any one of these you will have a misfire. you can check spark easily by pulling off a wire and making sure it arcs (make sure you are not touching the vehicle while touching the wire or you will get shocked, not enough to kill you, but is painful). to check fuel you can use propane and SLOWLY!!!! open to the intake and if the injector is stopped up it will smooth out (because it will start running on the propane instead of the gas in the car). if you open the propane too quickly the car will stall. the propane almost always works, but i have had a couple of times it didn't. to check compression you would need a compression gauge, compare readings from cylinders, if one is considerably lower than the others you have a valve train or more serious issue.

Engine is not running after spark plugs and cables changed.

I assume it was running before you changed the plugs and wires, verify you didnt disconnect accidently another wire such as a crank position sensor or an oxygen sensor on or near exhaust manifold
also check the wire firing order make sure that is correct...

I want to change the leads on the spark plugs. i

The part that you unscrewed from the spark plug is what allows the plug cap to snap onto the plug. Screw the little adaptor back onto the spark plug - and the plug cap should then snap into place with a little pressure.

1995 Land Rover Discovery 3.9L V8 Not Starting

Check the distributor position when the engine is turned to TDC , the rotor should be facing close to no. 1 spark plug lead.Try spray some quick start spray in the inlet and see if it takes , if so then your fuel return is dumping too much fuel. The older pressure regulators were adjustable by a small screw next to the diaphragm.
