Dear dsmalley427,
I think it sounds like a fuel injection problem. You get fuel for a while until the injector backs up and then all of a sudden NO FUEL. The engine quits and the pressure drops and flow returns enough for you to restart. If I were you I would get to a good mechanic and check the fuel injectors.
OR--try adding a fuel additive that would clean the injectors.--Signed jwr

May have more than 1 problem. As far as the fuse goes, may have a shorted glwplug relay or bad wiring harness at the valve cover. This is a complex system, you can though a bunch of money away on guesses. Best to have vehicle taken to qualified Ford diesel mechanic, he has the equipment to chek the system, rather that throw parts. Could get real expensive with no results. Good luck

No tail lights

look for a blown fuse in your engine compartment fuse box. if you dont find one there then check the fuse panel in the dash under you column. it could be one of the larger feed fuses in the engine compartment fuse box so dont overlook those.

Truck starts then stops if you release the throtle

If this is a carburated engine, adjust the idle mixture setting. It sounds like it is getting too much gas. If this engine has fuel injection, there is nothing you can do.

Also, I had to turn off my spell checker while typing this because it "corrected" it to:

If the is a carbuncle English, dust the idol miniature setting. It pounds like it is meting oi ouch gaga. If this English has fail conjecture, there is nosing you can do.

Ford moneo turbo diesle s reg

there is a pipe witch runs from the diesel pump to the turbo which monitors pressure. sometimes a thin membrane in the pump goes releasing diesel straight in to the turbo especially on tick over. eventually that diesel is sucked in to the engine along with all the other gunk where it starts revving up on its own rattleing and banging. i have come across this on lucas diesel pumps before
