WITH THE ENGINE COLD.
Open the radiator cap. The thermostat in down inside about 2 inches. You may need drain some fluid off to see it. You will have to remove the radiator cap holder, - 2 bolts to remove it. Install new unit with new gasket.

My 1999 Plymouth Breeze when idle the Gage Norma when driving the 2 miles an hour at 60 miles an hour temperature gauge indicates on the low level way to cold my heater in the car gets cool? Why

Hello your problem is simple if it is just sitting there running and you have heat but if you drive it and you lose heat it is the thermostat, it is stuck open and the fluid is passing threw the motor to fast to heat up. get a new thermostat and problem will be fixed

I have a 1999 plymouth breeze 2.4 engine and have a probleM with car over heating the fans works the thermostat changed no leaks but my check engine light is on and my oil light is also on.

First, take the car to a local "big name" parts store, they will check the codes for free. Next, look under the front of the car for any damage, most small cars come with a plastic air dam to force more air over the radiator, they are very easy to damage or knock off on curbs and speed bumps and will cause the car to over-heat if missing.

Trying to locate the thermostat on my 99 Breeze.

Thermostats almost always reside in a housing at the engine side end of the upper radiator hose. Drain coolant first, then loosen radiator hose to access thermostat housing. If you can't find the housing, consult your vehicle service manual for location.
