Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee

95 Jeep GCL 4.0 strait 6 wont fire

I got home from work went out to start about an hour later and it will turn over great but not start and if I keep trying for a few min it will finally start and idle fine with a little hesitation at first when i rev it up, then if I put it in gear to drive it will spit and sputter and die, then it takes a while to start it again with the same things happening and it smells like it is running rich.
I have changed the fuel filter and cap, rotor but still at a loss I can hear the fuel pump turning on what else could it be??

Mine did the same thing, I tested the ignition and found the crank position senser bad, it is at the back of the engine on the bell housing.

Drove it home, evrything fine, went out 2 hours later, will not start, engine turns over but wont start, replaced the coil pack still wont start

Make sure that you have fire and fuel. You may want to spray some ether into the air intake. If it doesn't want to start and it has fire, you may want to consider the timing chain.

95 honda accord turns over but wont start

Sometimes when a fuel filter is stopped up,and you change it,the fuel pump later, will go out, cause of the strain on the pump.

Onece in a while turn over wont fire. runs great other wise

your injector or fuel pump may be going out, next time when you check the issue, check your distubutor again and making sure you getting sparks, if you do have sparks than it has to be your fuel problems.

95 Jeep Wrangler will turn over but not start

COULD BE A COUPLE OF THINGS. NO SPARK COULD BE A BAD COIL. I DON;T KNOW IF YOU HAVE THE OLD OR NEW TYPE OF COIL. YOUR NO FUEL PROBLEM COULD BE THE FUEL PUMP IN THE FUEL TANK. JEEPS WERE NOTED FOR THIS PROBLEM. THERE IS A CAP YOU CAN TAKE OFF THE FUEL RAIL IF IT IS FUEL INJECTED AND TURN THE KEY ON TO SEE IF THE PUMP IS WORKING. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO THIS AS FUEL WILL SPRAY EVERYWHERE IF THE PUMP IS WORKING. THAT WILL BE A FIRE HAZARD IF CONTACT IS MADE WITH AN ELECTRICAL SPARK. USE CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THIS ITEM.
