I assume you are refering to the inertia fuel shut off? If so, its located in the cargo area, usually on the drivers side under the trunk liner...
Hope this helps

Check the trunk, on the driver side. Might be under a flap.

Hi i have a 95 mercury tracer and would not start turned key didnt here pump so replaced pump and nuthing replaced relay still nuthing is it possible that the inertia switch would just go bad or do u have...

The fuel pump shut off switches can go bad and the self resetting one were the worst. The older ones had a white button on top you had to manually push. I usually just cut out the self resetting ones and connect the two wires together. Use shrink tube or even a wire nut wrapped in black tape to keep the connection from coming apart or corroding.

Location of fuel pump shut off switch

Hi:
Usually the fuel pump impact sensor switch is located in the trunk area, on the right side, up towards the wheel hump.

Fuel pump reset switch

I don't have my manual right now, but check in the back compartment, right or left side behind a panel, or up front behind one of the kick panels.

Fuel Cut off switch location

your owner manual will tell you.

here is for 96 tracer. don't have 89 but suspect same place in trunk.

In the event of a collision, the electrical contacts in the IFS switch open and the fuel pump (9350) automatically shuts off. The fuel pump will shut off even if the engine (6007) does not stop running. The engine, however, will stop a few seconds after the fuel pump stops. It is not possible to restart the engine until the IFS switch is manually reset. The IFS switch is located on the RH side of the luggage compartment. Access is gained through a hole in the luggage compartment back lower trim cover (40374).

To reset the IFS switch, depress the button on top of the IFS switch.

1994 Tracer

usually a surefire way to check the problem is first check the fuel pump relay.when you turn the key you should hear the relay click(they are located underneath the center console on the passengerside) if the relays are good, then check the fuel shutoff switch to see if it was triggered(this is located on the passenger side in the rear wheel housing, there is a little pull off panel and it's marked.press the reset button on top if it's tripped. If you still have a problem the othere things to check are the firing of the plugs if there is fire your fuel pump is bad,if not you eithere have a bad coil pack or a timing belt issue
