Re: distributer and spark plugs location and pictures
THE PLUGS AND DISTRIBUTOR ARE UNDER THE HOOD. IF SOMEONE TOLD YOU THAT THEY ARE UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT THEN THEY WERE JUST KIDDING IM SURE. ON TOP OF THE ENGINE IS THE DISTRIBUTOR AND THE SPARK PLUGS ARE AT THE ENDS OF THE WIRES THAT COME FROM THE DISTRIBUTOR. HOPE THIS HELPS, LET ME KNOW. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA.

hi its not the fan belt it sounds like the timing belt or crank angle sensor, it could also be the ignition coils on the spark plugs that need to be checked. you have to remove the drivers seat, the drivers carpet and the plate under the drivers seat to access the head cylinder where the spark plugs are located
I would Google the problem first to see if other previa owners had the same issue and how they resolved it.
You could also call a garage and explain your issue and ask for a quote to check or diagnose the problem.
if you mean "code reader plug" (sorry not much of a car guy, just know what MY '91 has taught me) is under the drivers seat. there is a lever to lean the seat (whole seat, not just back) back. this is where you add oil, check oil and trans fluid. the code reader plug is the grey box thingy nearest the door.
Hope that helped
There is a hatch under the driver's and passenger's seats. The driver's seat hinges up to access the oil dipstick and throttle body. The passenger seat must be removed to access the hatch below it. Sounds difficult, but there are only 4 bolts to remove.
I would change fuel filter any way only £6 delivered on ebay then i would start looking at glow plugs and relays first check to make sure glow plugs are getting a live feed bad side glow plugs are located under drivers seat side of engine so not easy to get at unless you remove seat carpet and engine covers
The best thing to do is to purchase a Haynes manual for the Toyota Previa. But to access the spark plug wires and spark plugs you will need to remove the passenger front seat. This requires taking out four bolts on the four corners of the seat. After the seat is removed you need to remove the outside seat support and the jack and jack handle that is located under the seat. Next remove the bolt from the seat belt/shoulder harness. Romove the screws from the side of the carpet keeper strip along the bottom of the door. carefully, using a flat blade screwdriver, pry the plastic carpet strip up carefully disengaging it from the rear strip. Unhook the carpet from the edge of the doorway. Pull the carpet back enough to expose the bolts holding the cover over the engine. Remove all the bolts holding the cover over the engine. This will expose the engine head. remove the three bots holding the black plastic cover over the spark plug wires. This wires can be removed allowing access to the plugs. Be aware these engines use only platinum tipped spark plugs. Good Luck
