No power to fuel pump, there is no power or ground to pump, the two wires the hot and the ground both are out of order, is there some other safety somewhere that killed the circuit?

Fuel pump relay. should be able to find its location on line.
Sugest you buy a Haynes manual for your truck , they are always a time saver over figuring it out for yourself.
The ground should be ok , if not trace the wires back till you find where it is damaged.

I'm not getting fuel out of the pump but have 8.6 volts on three of the wires at the pump 87 pathfinder

Assuming it is an in-tank fuel pump, the fact there are three wires would suggest it is a combined pump and fuel gauge sender. 8.6 volts between the fuel gauge wire and ground is a realistic figure but is insufficient to operate the fuel pump.
The fuel pump needs a good ground and a feed of 12 volts but for safety reasons power is only supplied to the pump during cranking and when the engine is running. The pump of some cars does run for about 2 seconds when the ignition is switched on.
Unless the fuel pump relay is removed and the terminals are bridged so a constant supply of power is provided at the pump it is very difficult to check the voltage.

It is relatively easy to test the pump by connecting it directly to a known good battery, taking all appropriate safety precautions.

If the pump tests ok the fault is possibly the relay, wiring or connections or perhaps the fuse.
It would be a good plan to check the fuse first.

Kia sportage cranks but seldom starts??

Have you checked the fuel pump relay to see if it is sending power to the pump ? The computer grounds the relay when the computer "sees" oil pressure or engine RPM.

New fuel pump still no fuel

lets say you have power and fuel is pumping it goes from pump to fuel rails in one long line if fuel is at port on rail then ck injectors for hot and ground hot with key on ground with engine turning injectors get ground from ecm ,if no ground ck for bad ground wires then ck ecm ,. if no power to pump ck fuse and fuel pump relay and wire system. some times replacement parts are bad.

I have put a new fuel pump and filter in truck. i cant get no fuel in throttlebody

You are correct, this is a Throttle Body Injected engine. I had to look that up to be certain. For the two injectors to operate the computer must be operational, check the fuse(s) for the ECU, electronic control unit (the computer). Often there is a replay that can disconnect the injector ground connection in order to limit fuel when a engine over-revving condition exists too many RPMs). There can also be another relay for the fuel pump that can be dropped. Usually the fuel pump relay is cut of to limit engine RPMs. In the vent someone has direct-wired the fuel pump, the fuel pump relay being cut off would be ineffective to limit vehicle speed so dropping the ground (and killing power to the injectors) is done as a backup for safety. Verify the fuel pump runs for a moment when the key is switched to the run position. Use starting fluid to be certain it will run if fuel is provided. Consult a wiring diagram and look for relays in the wiring for the injectors.

No power from the fuel pump relay to the fuel tank

MY 93 K1500 BLAZER DID THE SAME THING. I RAN A HOT WIRE FROM THE BATTERY INTO MY CAB TO A TOGGLE SWITCH . AND ANOTHER HOT WIRE TO THE POSITIVE WIRE OF THE FUEL PUMP ON THE OUT SIDE OF THE TANK. NOW YOU DON"T NEED TO GROUND THE FUEL PUMP OR TOGGLE SWITCH OUT. THE FUEL PUMP IS ALL READY GROUNDED. MAKE SURE TO PUT A 20 OR 30 AMP BREAKABLE FUSE IN BETWEEN THE WIRE FROM THE BATTERY AND TOGGLE SWITCH. I DID THIS ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS WORKED GREAT EVERY SINCE. JAKE .B

2000 S10 4.3L Fuel pump stopped working out of the blue. We Put a new Fuel Pump in, new harnes to fuel pump, new fuel filter, new relay, new fuses in IGN C and ECM B fuses. Still the pump will not turn on....

At the fuel pump relay you should have 1 full time hot wire. 1 hot wire when you turn on the switch. 1 ground, and the other wire goes to the pump. Test the ground to be sure it is good. If so then jump a hot to the one that goes to the pump and see if it runs.If it does then you have a bad relay or ECM. You can swap the relay with another of the same # from tour fuse box to test it.There is also a ground on top of the frame near the filler neck, check it too. Good Luck

93 merc topaz feul pump wiring harness question

The engine computer turns on the fuel pump for 3 seconds when you turn the key to "ON".
If the engine does not start, the pump will not run.
When you turn the key to "Start", the fuel pump runs all the time the key is held in start.
When you turn the key on, it actiavtes the power relay, which provides power to the PCM or engine computer.
The PCM then activates the fuel pump relay, sending power to the fuel pump.
You should have one wire with 12V for 3 seconds in "run" position. This comes from the fuel pump relay to the inertia switch in the trunk and then to the fuel pump.
You should have one ground wire. black
One wire going to the fuel guage.
You may have another ground iwre ging to a diode before going to ground.
