SOURCE: wont start

There's only 2 more things that I can think of, check the fuse for the ignition, then the computor itself, you did everything else.It might be the problem and may not.

SOURCE: 1990 ford f-150 nothing happens when ignition is turned on

Solenoid was not mentioned as replaced.

If it was not part of new starter...that's the culprit.

Ignition switch (smaller wire) activates the solenoid (heavier wire) which in turn activates the (high current) starter.

SOURCE: Pontiac Sunfire '95 wont start

Probably the ignition switch, neutral safety switch or clutch switch if it is a manual.

Post your e-mail and I will send you a wiring diagram.

SOURCE: My 99 Expedition just died while driving. After

I has an 86 Mustang that did a similar thing and it turned out that the battery actually shorted out. This happens when one of the plates inside the battery brakes off and then touches another plate. When mine died it was like I turned the iginition off. It wouldn't turn over even with jumper cables.

SOURCE: 97 jetta 4 cylinder will not turn over.

Check, clean and tighten your battery posts, and the power connection to the starter and ground. Make certain the battery is good and charged, Perhaps you have a bad starter motor, or the engine is frozen (will not turn over). I think the ignition switch is okay, because your lights dim when you try to start. This indicates power is getting to the starter (at least some).

Something is up with my security 99 ford ranger 4x4 6cyl if i turn the key nothing hapens but i jump the starter to turn over engin but ive got no spark or fuel

All your circuits go thru the ignition switch - sure you can have the starter crank by jumping it but with the ignition switch in off position you are not powering the ignition nor fuel delivery system.

Replace the switch.

My car won't start, power to everything up until you turn the key the last bit.

Could be: park netural switch, battery, battery cable, starter or just battery connections. check the b. connections first. Have you tried to jump it?
Check for power to the starter by having somebody else try to start it while you check for power there. If there is power replace starter if not check the above.

Turn ignition on but car wont crank..it will start if u turn key on and jump the solenold

The starter solenoid is bad or the ignition switch is bad. Check the solenoid to see if it is getting power. If the solenoid is getting power then the solenoid is bad. But if the solenoid is not getting power with the key in the start position, then the ignition switch is bad.

We put the key in the ignition switch cylinder and it wont turn. what could be the problem and how hard would it be to replace the ignition switch and cylinder on a 1996 pontiac sunfire

It could be numerous problems, the battery, alternator or starter, If its making a clicking sound its probably not the battery. But if its not making a sound at all then its more then likely the battery

Pontiac Sunfire '95 wont start

Sounds like the ignition switch has gone out. Take a service manual and follow the instructions on testing the ignition switch.

2003 pontiac sunfire, key in ignition nothing. tried jumping, nothing. Left for help, came back car started right up 4 or 5 times, Now nothing. Why? ty, Sue

Sounds like a short in the ignition switch. Next time it does it, try shaking and turning the steering wheel while you're turning the key to start. If this doesn't work, try cycling the switch on and off several times. Chances are, this is your problem.
