Usually the pistons will sustain little to no damage just because they are a more dense component, and it is made to take a beating. The only two ways to double check are; to buy this very expensive tool that you can use to slide down the spark plug alley to see if the tops of your pistons are alright. It is pretty much a very skinny microscope with a light on the end to look inside engines. Or remove the spark plugs and rotate the engine until the piston is at (TDC) top dead center and shine a light down to see the top of the piston.

To be honest if you are planning on keeping the car all the valve are going to need to be replaced anyway, or at least half of them, when you remove the head to replace them you will be able to see the top of the pistons. But chances are next to no damage is done to the piston.

Clean the tops of the pistons and check for any hairline cracks and damage, if none is found they should be ok

They should be ok if there are no cracks, the only other way to be 100% sure is to replace all the pistons which works out to be very expensive.

When you have your head repaired make sure you have it crack tested too ok, they should do that anyway if you are getting a motor engineer to do the job

If the valves are bent but none are broken the pistons should be just fine. If any valve actually broke off, the broken portion can do serious damage to the piston as well a the head. Any cracks in the piston or head resulting from this should be detectable with the naked eye.

Does the timeing belt have to be on for the crank to turn the cam when instilling the timeing belt?

Are you replacing a broken timing belt? Or are you replacing a belt because it's due by miles? If the belt is broken, i strongly suggest inspecting for bent valves. Daewoo is notorious for bending all valves and breaking valve guides in the cylinder head when the timing belt breaks. The broken belt is also common.

Would there be a noise / sound if the valves bend during this time??? I Lost all Power to my Car and just pulled it off the road, and my mechanic told me my valves were bent. he took everything off and...

Sounds like the Timing belt broke while the motor was running, the engine would have died when that happened unless you busted a cam shaft. if the Timing belt was broken and it happened while the motor was running there is a 90% probability that you bent every valve in the head assembly from contact with the pistons.

My timming belt broke and i replace it and i only can compression on the number 3 clyinder what do i need to do

your Daewoo has an interference engine, when the timing belt brakes the valves hit the top of the pistons, and get bent. you will need to remove the cylinder head an replace the valves.....sorry.

HI MY CAM BELT STRIPPED AND JUST WANTED TO CHECK OUT THE CORRECT TIMMING MARK ON THE CAM SHAFTS PLEASE

If the timing belt stripped out chances are a valve in the interference engine was bent. These engine are called interference engines because they are designed in such a way that if the belt breaks or strips out the valve gets in the way of the piston and get hit by the piston, the timing marks can be found in a haynes repair manual found at Auto Zone or Advanced Auto Zone.

TENSIONER bolt has broken off of the TENSIONER pulley

your daewoo does not have an interference engine which means that if timing belt slips or breaks there wont be any valve or piston damage

I need a diagram for the timming belt for a daewoo nubira 2000

what model ?? 8 valve?? 16 valve?? petrol ?? diesel?? .Remove np one spàrk plug and put a long thin screwdriver into hole and turn engine till the piston is at the top and then look for timing marks ,if you still cant see them paint the cam gear .with a couple of spots of white paint ,the lower crank mark it when the keyway points at the top of bottom of the engine. If i remember rightly these opel engines have the timing mark as a white line on the belt .But mark it anyway and always rotate the engine 360% by hand to make sure the valves clear and you have it right

I have replaced broken timing belt on 1999 daewoo nubira and all timing marks line up but it will not idle properly and knocks

did the timing belt snapbefore you replaced it? if so you may have bent some valves. if not recheck timing marks and distributor position.
