Lost my loctronic key devicr an now my96 silverado won't start.How do i get a replacement key or disable locktronic

THe key has a code in it that is read by the engine immobiliser. BY removing the key and reinserting you are giving the immobiliser a chance to read the code again. Give it a try. THe battery in your key may be getting low and needs replacing.

Same problem here, found break in wiring harness at cross-member behind cab. did have bed removed for easy access. Ground wire guilty party.
