Question about 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

1985 monte carlo ss cranks but does not start

I just recently bought this car it ran beautifully at 164000 miles for a whole month then i decided to start small upgrades to it, since it was completely stock.  so the first thing i did is bought all new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor and coil.  i replaced everything perfectly as far as i can tell, im not a bad *** mechanic im just decent,  then it started right up first time. i let it idle for like 5 mins, then drove it to base. the car did absolutley fine the whole way there, stop and go traffic and long straight-a-ways to step on the pedal. so as soon as i got on base, i turned a corner and gave it a little throttle, then it started cutting out and losing rpms, then each time after this that i tried to gice it gas, it would start cutting out then finally it backfired, which i later pinpointed to the carburetor. and died.  then it would fire up only 3 more times after this until now it just cranks all day without starting,  i just recently replaced all the stock parts that i took off, except for the rotor, and i still get the same thing, cranks but doesnt fire up.  im confused as hell please let me know what i need to do to get this thing back on the road.

ok so i discovered a bit more, i have no spark but there is fuel.  i took a test light to it and found there is power going into the distributor but nothing coming out.  its a brand new cap so the contact points are beautiful, i heard something about it may be the ignition module?  and it was only a little throttle that was killing it, i mean i did stomp on it once or twice on the way to work but once on base when i turned a small corner i lightly pressed the gas, then the rest followed.  its hard to work on it because its not at home.

Check that rotor, mine was arcing through to the distributor shaft (it was inferior part, junk brand) A little throttle? or punched it hard around the corner? 165K check the timing with a timing light ... maybe the timing chain jumped sproket ...
I actually had the exact same scenario after tune up twice with my 1970 Dodge Dart 318 ... first time it was the rotor .... 2nd time (years later) it was the timing chain

If you are driving the car and it wont start after driving awhile. Do a wiggle on the CKP (crank position sensor) this sensor is located at the front main engine pulley, I am seeing a lot of loose male to female connection shut car off.

BAD GAS!!! Empty tank, lines and and float. Get tarnish out with carb cleaner and put in fresh gas with chemical to dry lines of water/whatever. Replace fuel filter.

That slushy brown stuff is signs of a blown head gasket. Have a code scanner hooked up to find out why the light is on, it will probably show coolant temperature sensor. Just out of curiosity, check the pvc valve (if your car has one), and see if it's clogged. If it is replace it, the crank case is not getting ventilated.
