91 pontiac formula wont start

I have a 91 pontiac formula. I havent driven it in 2 years, was in storage. But I charged the battery and now it wont start. I put a code reader on it but it didnt throw any codes. What should i check to get it running? its a 305 tuned port. Before storage once in a while it would not start after driving it awhile and parking it. but a check engine light would come on, that only happened a few times. Any ideas?mine been sitting one year no fuel to injecters and i do not here pump coming on

Fuel pump is probably clogged with bad gas Put fresh gas with Techroline fuel cleaner in tank, try pouring a small amount of fuel into butterfly at air inlet. Car should start but will probably not remain running if fuel pump is clogged. Change any inline fuel filters. Also short shot of starter fluid at butterfly will crank it up also...put a charger on your battery while working as you are draggin down the battery w/every attempt.....Good Luck to you....Tim

Battery keeps dying

wow a 90ty ! iif battery is older than say five years then yes its totally possible that it wont hold a charge long , this is to be expected in battery's that old , also if car is driven infrequently then just the power needed to make dash clock run will run a good battery down .

I have a 91 olds delta 88. Serpentine belt broke. fixed that. put a brand new battery in. it act like it wants to start but it wont. any ideas

Is it possible that your battery is weak due to the fact that you belt broke, and the alternator wasn't charging for some time. This probably would present itself by cranking over very slowly. Test your battery voltage and see if it reads 12.5 v -14.5v. I would like to know how long the car was driven with no belt. DId it have time to overheat?

Engine fails to start

What makes you think the battery is charged sufficiently? My guess is that your battery doesn't have enough power to crank the engine (just because all the lights come on doesn't mean the battery is good enough to crank the engine). Try jumpstarting the car, or charging the battery. If your car starts, then your battery is getting old, it's time to replace it.

Need more info.... If you are getting more than five years out of a battery, every day is a free gift. Ten years and you are running on borrowed time.

Alternator wont charge after replacement , pontiac fiero

The burnt out bulb may be the problem. At least up to '87 the bulb for the alternator light was part of the charging circuit and was used to provide the resistance to excite the alternator to charge. In '88 GM started using the CS alternator, which might be self-exciting.

I BELIEVE THAT THE MEMORY IN THE CAR'S COMPUTER IS LOST. IF YOU CAN GET IT TO THE DEALER OR A CERTIFIED GM SHOP THEY WILL HAVE TO "FLASH THE DRIVE" ON THE P.C.M.(POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE). I HOPE THIS HELPS. LET ME KNOW PLEASE.THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK
