Question about 1992 Honda Accord

92 accord Ignition problem

Was driving my car when I let off the accelerator and the car died instantly. Tried to restart it and it won't fire. Engine turns over just fine but won't start. Checked for fuel at the fuel rail and there is good pressure there. Opened the oil fill and looked in and saw that the timming belt is still there and working. Pulled the wire off of the distributer from the coil and checked for spark and there was none. Was wondering if there was a chance that this could be related to the main relay or if the problem was some where else. Checked the wires that connect to the coil and with the car on one is hot and the other two are neg. Not sure if that helps. Any help would be great!!

Thank you for the help. After doing alot of trouble shooting I narrowed it down to the ignighter, but still wasn't sure. With your input I went ahead and purchased an ignighter and my car is now operational again!! Thank you!!

Check the igniter in the dist. this is a very common problems with the honda, I have run into them (bad igniter)when it takes out the fuel pump voltage. best of luck.

1990chevy suburban 2500 350 died while driving and won't restart I can hear the fuel pump turn on I have changed the fuel filter and still nothing what's next

check for spark, no spark, no fire engine wont run, possible bad ignition coil, wire from coil to distributor cap, no power to ignition coil from ignition switch (rare) wire broken to ignition coil (even rarer)

I have a 92 honda accord and it keeps dieing

Fuel pump relays are a common problem with Hondas.
I would check the fuel pressure when it won't start.
You may also have a problem with the fuel filter or the pump.
There is a long list of possibilities.
Is the check engine light on ?

I have a 92 honda accord that runs good tell it get to running tempature then dies. what could it be?

If your car runs for about 20 minutes and then dies and won't restart for a while, your distributor is probably the culprit. Also, check your main relay at the same time, to make sure it's supplying power properly to the ignition and fuel systems.

My 92 accord fires up by immediately dies. Ive replaced the main relay, cap, rotor, wires, and it still does it. What else could it be.

Check your ignition switch, start the car and slowly turn the key back to the run position, when the start stops spinning and the car keeps running your switch is bad.

92 honda accord lx dies when put on brakes at a stop

Sounds like your timing belt is one tooth off on the cam, this I have seen before especially if it is a twin overhead cam. One tooth off will make it idle really low when stopping at the light especially if the engine is warm.
