Check for spark and fuel, ether could cause this problem. Also check the points if she still uses them.

Check every battery connection. That's all the cables and connections to starter, alternator, engine block, etc. Have alternator checked it may be failing when it hits that particular RPM

1983 chevy c30 has fire, won't start

Not god to use starter fluid, gas in a bottle works. If it starts that way ,my guess would be the fuel pump.

1999 4 dr sw dohc starts and runs fine for about 10 miles then it just dies could be doing 60 or 25 mph sometimes will start after a minute and other times it takes longer repeats itself

The LW started in 00, if it is a 99 then it is an SW. I would start by replacing the crank sensor which is installed into the rear of the block, behind the starter on the SW. Most likely easier to replace on the LW as they moved the starter to the front of the engine in the 2.2 LW engine. Cheap part.

Car

Try disconnecting the alternator for a few minutes.
It can run on just the battery that long.
It is possible the new alternator is producing too many spikes that disrupt the car's electronics.
