Damaged plastic liner of wheel well rubs on tire when driving over bumps

Even if you popped the dent out, the liner may not fit back on tightly. They are usually held by plastic clips or plastic pins or even plastic screws that easily get distorted, or the hole they are held with gets enlarged from tearing. You could keep the liner up with a couple of machine screws drilled into strategic places....or, you could just remove the liner-it's not a safety issue-it just helps keep mud and dirt from building up in the wheel wells and fender corners. To remove it, first take the wheel off. Then you can see how it is held on Pull it off and throw it away.
If you pop the dent out and fender looks pretty good, and the liner appears it can be re-used with just a little help, all the better.
It;s up to you.

My tire blew out on the interstate, and it damaged my wiring harness located under the left side fender weld. now my car will not start?

The wire harness in the LH wheel well has been damaged and either needs repair or it needs replacing. I have repaired this harness several times in the past because it was cheaper to repair it than to replace it (the harness itself is over $1000). If you know any good electricians, shop around. You might find someone who could and can repair it. Of course, they'd probably need to inspect the extent of damage before they could give you an estimate.

Where is the battery located on a 1997 plymouth breeze?

Drivers side fender well. Jack up the car and remove the front tire. There's a section of the fender liner with a big picture of a battery on it. You can remove that part of the fender liner via some thumb twist screws and get to the battery.

Its easier if you remove the left front tire. In front of the wheel well, you will see a plastic cover held in place with several clips that can be removed by turning the clips 1/4 turn to left. pull the plastic cover off and you will see the battery. Use 1/2 in. socket to remove hold down, and 5/16 socket to remove cables. Total time Approx. 15 minutes.

Where is the battery located on a 2006 chevy hhr

NO it is NOT under the hood or the fender IT IS in the back under the plastic cover that covers the spare tire. Open your tailgate, lift the cover that hides your spare tire. The battery is between the spare tire and the back bumper. If the battery is dead you can not open the tailgate, You need to open the side door and climb into the back. Who ever thought about putting the battery back there and having an electric tailgate is a nut! Good work GM

1996 corolla wagon driver side front axle is loose at the inner end. can I drive it til replace this weekend? Boots not torn, no clicking. About quarter inch play in wheel. Some buzz/whine sound randomly...

Chances are that if an impact did enough damage to loosen an axle then there is probably some other damage as well. Have you tried pushing the axle back into the transmission? If it comes out it's going to do some real damage to the car. The transmission will run out of oil and burn up your differential inside, then the shaft, which will still be connected to your wheel will beat and bash everything under the car until the cv joints tear apart. I wouldn't recommend it, it's not worth the risk.

The ABS light and Trac off light is on, what's wrong?

There are sensors mounted behind the front wheels. Look for two small wires, running in plastic line protectors, behind each of the front wheels. There is a small connector plug that attaches to the sensors. These can get dirty and cause the problem you have. Cleaning them and using a dielectric grease might solve the problem. I have seen these get unplugged when brakes get worked on or even, on occasion, when tires get changed.

I have also seen the wires get torn apart along the undercarriage. You might want to follow them back to the main harness looking for damage.

In both circumstances you are going to want to get the car up in the air, with the tires removed and on sturdy jack stands. So you can get a clear view and have room to make any needed repair. You don't want to do this with car on it's tires.

Good Luck!
