Question about 2000 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

I have a 2000 Toyota Camry that has electrical issues. You can be driving down the road and for no reason the auto door locks will start to go on and off. When this happens the parking lights stay on and run the battery dead. The dash lights will also start to blink. I have disconnect the battery and reconnected this will fix the problem for a short time. Has anyone else experience similar problems with their Camry?

That a really weird condition 2 things that come to mind... water damage from a leak around the windshield that causing a problem on some connections on either the drivers side or passenger side, or a bad integration relay, also known as a body ecu or fuse box assembly..

1998 Camry starts up but will nto stay running. in fact it stopped on me going down the road and would not start back up

There are literally HUNDREDS of reasons why an engine can stall and not start back up. The place to begin to find the solution for your problem would be to scan your onboard computer system for fault codes. This will most likely lead you directly to the answer.

2000 Toyota Camry Window Problem

Sorry to strike your hopes on this one, but it is not a fuse problem. If there was a blown fuse, the window motor would not get any voltage at all and would neither roll up nor down.

Now, the good news is that you can order an after-market window motor and regulator for a very reasonable price, for example just $44.95 delivered from www.AM-autoparts.com for your 2000 Camry. If you are just moderately handy, you can remove the interior door panel and replace the part yourself. Or, you can take it to an auto glass shop and they will replace it for you. The charge should be about one hour's labor.

1998 Toyota Camry car alarm keeps going off.

I have this same crazy problem with my Camry. When you push the button then open the door on the driver side really quick, the alarm starts to blow off. So what I used to do everytime is push the button to unlock all the doors then open whichever door you want. It won't scream. Try it.

Need to know how to adjust the door auto lock function.

Not an easy fix! The door lock function was designed to lock doors only. you can however, disable this lock feature by simply cutting the light blue automatic door lock signal wire on the 6-wire harness plug connector located on the chime module (In component center).
