on most cars if the temp sending unit goes bad the gauge reads as if the car is running hot. check sending unit before you waste more money.

How do i replace the water pump....3.3 L

first find the water pump for every vehicle ive ever worked on the water pump is always right above the main pulley once you locate the pump unscrew the hose from the pump to the radiator and then take all the bolts off the pump slowly wiggle the pump off so you don't damage the gasket on the water pump then take your new water pump and line it up to the holes for the bolt and put all the bolts back in and then reattach the water pump hose to the pump and to the radiator and then fill the radiator up and your good to go

99 ford mustang 6 cylinder. Recently i had to add antifreeze to my car couldn't find the radiator drain to take some of the water out so i loosened the lower coolant hose to drain some out after...

replace any soft hoses.
collapsed hoses cause water flow constriction
.that increases temp fast

to bleed air out of the system . if no air bleeder as such
with heater on full .-engine running
loosen the bypass pipe for the closed thermostat till only coolant flows no air bubbles
check if
the engine cooling fan spinning fast enough
the water pump in good condition
the interior directional flaps motors or actuators working

Hi, i have a mitsubishi montero 01, the air condition stops working due to leakage and my mechanic decides to remove the leaking pipe that goes to a unit(i dont know the name now) above the right rear tyre...

Make sure you have water in your radiator! The leaking is probably coming from there or a hose linking the radiator to the engine block. If there's no water, fill it up again (make sure your engine hasn't been running for awhile before opening it up). If there is water though, check for any hoses running the radiator to the engine if you can see them and make sure they are tight, look for wet spots on the hoses to see what might be leaking.

If this solves it, take it to another mechanic!

Water leak under the manifold cover, above the thermostat

I'd say your heater hose is leaking. The hose for your water pump probably runs out the back of the water pump right under your manifold. If thats the case then your in for a job.

Coolant is leaking from hose/pipe under coolant reservoir

It sounds like the outlet pipe from rear of water pump, which takes the hose from the rear plastic pipe, which is very common problem in Daewoo Leganza/Nubira/Lanos Australian 2.0/2.2 DOHC engines.Either the hose itself, the plastic pipe, or the alloy outlet for the hose on rear of water pump, which is subject to corrosion. You will have to confirm where leak is from, if it is from hose to rear of water pump, you can try re-clamping hose or replacing hose, if it is corrosion of that outlet, the part is available @$40-60 new, but it is a fairly major job because timing cover timing belt and then water pump must be removed...it is a difficult workspace in front of and behind that engine, the manifold and alternator are both in the way , it may be possible to do it in car but you may even be better off removing engine to work on.Good news is that this is a great opportunity to replace T-belt and water pump and pulleys at the same time..Sorry its not that great a news, its not a very easy DIY job, but it is do-able if you have some experience and tools.

Need to know name of hose that is just below upper radiator hose it has 3 connections 1)to the thing that hold oil filter 2)over by water pump and 3)connects to hose on rightside of engine just above oil...

That is still a little hard to say, because there are heater hoses and crank case ventilation hoses in that area. But the base beneath the oil filter is a cooler that has water lines to it. That sounds like the best bet. But you don't need a name. Hoses don't really have names. What you need is a description to give to a parts person. And that is most easily done with a cell phone camera. But you can draw a sketch instead. And the parts person will give you a name for it if you really want one.
