You will need to remove the heater box. It's a big job and you will need a manual...or bring it to an honest shop that does heater work.If you can't see the ring through the windshield it's either in the defrost duct or in the main box.

How to remove the windshield vents in a ford f-150 2008?

if you can get under the dash with your hand you may be able to pull the vent pipe away but you may have to remove a few components to gain access or try one of those grab tools that have a claw on the end

Lost a ring down the front defroster

Thats probably going to be an expensive fix.
Chances are the ring is in the vent ductwork somewhere between where you dropped it and the heater box under the dash.
Since it is probably gold, a magnet won't touch it. So you'll probably have to get the heater box disassembled to retrieve it.
They may have to take the dash out to get to the ductwork.

I have a 1972 Elcamino and I need to remover the headlight switch so I can install a need AC vent. I have removed the dash pad and can see it. Please help.

The switch will have a little spring loaded button you will need to depress to pull out the knob. you may just need to feel for it. once the knob/shaft is out, then you may use small needle nose pliers or snap ring pliers to loosen the ring holding it in, special tools are made to fit the ring, but finding those will be difficult.

I need help!!! my wifes ring fell in the vent on the dash. I thing its the vent for the defrost. Is their a way that I can get into the duct? An If so how?

you'll need to pull the dash out. I would sugest taking it to someone who knows more than the novice man(like myself). Dashes of newer models seem to have more clips than screws. if you crack a plastic tab for one of those....

Lost ring in dash vent

Your vehicle has a central fan blower under the dash that feeds the cooled or heated air to the vents thru plastic tubes, sometimes round, sometimes flattened and curved to get from spot to spot. There are large vents at the base of the blower unit that supply air to the floor. If you locate that you can find the blower. Then there are smaller tubes that go to the other front and side dash vents. Be careful as there are wires and vacuum lines in the area which are connected to your vent controls on the dash. The bad news is that the top dash vents are usually fed from the top of the blower and may actually require a contortionist or partial dash and blower system disassembly to gain access. If you are lucky perhaps the ring fell all the way into the blower box itself and you may find that removing the side vent tubes alone will allow you to reach in the blower box and retrieve it. Otherwise it may take a professional a couple of hours to do the job and of course they will charge you accordingly. It's up to the value of the ring. Good Luck!

Phone in heat vent

yes,,you need to remove the centre console that covers the handbrake right up to where it meets the dash,,you need to remove that whole unit (a couple of 8 mil nuts hold that in pop off the little tiny gromets to view them)this will give you room to manover the carpet back enough to retrieve the phone out of the vent..you might need to remove the seat (youl no when u look)cause that vent runs right under,,,the seat,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Lighter stuck in vehicle vent

He will need to Remove the Dash panel to access that Lighter. Be careful though, If you **** stuff around it could fall down further and will not be Retrievable! Also try a ScrewDriver and Some 3M Double sided Tape through the Vent, This could work also.
