This code indicates an open or short in the esc circuit, usually this is caused by leaving the esc timing connector un-plugged. Is there a wire, usually brown with a couple black plug-in connectors laying loose near the distributor or fire wall? Did you leave a jumper in the A & B sockets of the ALDL connector? Double check all the connections that you had to repair, especially anything coming out of the distributor.

A brake light fuse keeps popping. Also we started it last night and wire harness caught on fire. The wires are not bare and some of the harness is melted.

hi,
your either going to have to either get a new harness or go to the junkyard and cut one out and resplice. get a haynes or chilton for the lincoln now and study the wiring or go to autozone for colors(its free to sign up and look stuff up) your going to have to find the harness in the trunk and figure out where the short occured along the line. sounds like someone prob put a 30 amp in the brake lights and cooked that wire. you may have to make a new dedicated brake light line with a relay out of a fog light set or eqivalent. I wouldnt use the old brake light wire. carry a fire extinguisher now. dont drive it with a cooked harness. if its a 3.8 v6 keep the oil changed and buy an upscale filter(wix) .

Do you know plug wire line up for a 1995 pontiac fiero 2.3

The Pontiac Fiero was made from 1984 to 1988
In the 84 thru 88 Fiero's they had the 2.5L In-Line 4-Cylinder or the 2.8L V6.
I have included both below

For the 2.5L In-Line 4-Cylinder:
Firing Order:
1 - 3 - 4 - 2
Cylinders:
.........(back)............
...1....2....3....4...
.........(front)
Distributor Connections:
..............2
...................(+)
....4
....................1
(+)
..........3

For the 2.8L V6:
Firing Order:
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6
Cylinders
.......(back).........
...1.....3.....5...
......................
...2.....4.....6...
........(front)
Distributor:
............2
......1.........3
(+)...............(+)

Where is the starter wire connected to?

It runs between the starter and the junction on the engine wall next to the battery (the junction has a bunch of red wires and other wires connected to black connectors with lots of wires and a couple metal bolts that secure some connections together)

Sounds like your fuel pump is going bad. Have your mechanic do a pressure test on it.

Blowing ECM-B fuses

The ECM-B fuse is a 20 amp fuse, and you should NEVER put a larger fuse in to try to overcome any problem. The oil pressure switch is a secondary concern; there is an idiot light or oil pressure guage in the dash to alert you to oil pressure problems. Under heavy load, such as towing, your engine requires more fuel, and if your fuel pump is going/has gone bad, it cannot supply the demand.
The problem is almost certainly a fuel pump wire harness short, caused by a dying fuel pump. I have both had this problem myself, and repaired it on three other vehicles. On my vehicle, the wire harness had welded itself together when the fuel pump locked up, and the wire harness caught on fire.
The fuel pump is in the gas tank (of course my tank was full), and the tank has to be dropped to access it. The wire harness is modular, with plugs at both ends, and can be bought from the Chevrolet or GMC dealer.
If you put an incorrectly-rated fuse anywhere in your vehicle's electrical system, the WORST place to do it is where you have--the fuel pump circuit. Fuses blow for a reason, and the manufacturer's engineers properly size the fuses for the application at hand. Please don't do that again.
This can be a very dangerous problem and repair, and no, it is not cheap.
Do not attempt to operate this vehicle until you have had the problem properly corrected. Good luck.
