2004 dodge ram running hot when you stop

My 04 Dodge ram, with the 4.7 liter V-8, starts heating up at short stops or red lights. I changed the thermostat it was no help. Mydodge dealership says the saw no problems. It will sit and idle with the A/C on and does not get hot. Any ideas?

What kind of oil does a 86 dodge ram 150 take

That information is in the user manual. It also depends on what type of duty the dodge is encountering. Could be light could be very heavy, I do not know. You may stop by your friendly dealer, listen to a short sales pitch and get the answer from him if you do not have the manual. You may get it from one of the following links.

Sounds like short in starter. While you try and start it have someone tap the starter with a small hammer.

The water pump would be the next step. Look over the belts as well, A system flush may help.
