Question about 1996 Pontiac Grand Am
Car was inspected by a mechanic and the owner was told that the Ac unit is in working order but will not switch on and there is no working speedometer however, it is a VSS system and I have replaced the speed sensor already Can you help with my 1996 Pontiac Grand Am?
Your A/C may be low on R134, you can pick up a A/C recharge kit at Wal-Mart or Auto Zone for around $45.00 or less depending on which one you get and recharge the system you self. Do not over charge the system, just follow the instructions.
I believe your Grand Am takes 12 ounces of R134 so you only need one can but by two so when your A/C is low again you can recharge it again. You must have a small leak some where in the system and you can pick up a Recharge can too with stop leak.
If you need help, go to Auto Zone or Parts Source and the parts person there should be able to help you out, but try recharging the system first with the R134 with stop leak 12 ounce can.
Good luck and hope this helps.
