Cavelier 2000 - A/C Fan works for 1 minute than quits

A/C works for a minute, than it quits, when left on, it comes back up after 3-4 minutes than stops again.. this continues... Is this a case of a broken Fan? or something more sinister?
Cooling works, just no Fan to distribute the cold air most of the time.
Any suggestions are appreciated. thanks in advance

    good question - when we got the car in 2005, the A/C Fan was working on the highest setting only, and has done that satisfactory until a couple of days ago. We always assumed the switch was broken, but since it was working on the highest setting we did not bother.

Then i would suspect it's your switch that is the problem.

Jaguar s type 2000 over heats when stop in traffic,

Here a two of the most common causes for overheating;

1. Low coolant.

2. Faulty thermostat.

Make sure your coolant level is up to the FULL line on the coolant reservior, ( do not fill completely up or you cauld cause the check engine light to come.)

Check to see if the thermostat is working.

How to test the thermostat in most vehicles;
Make sure the heater is off, start the engine and let it run for 6 to 8 minutes, ( this will allow the
engine to reach, " normal operating temperature "), from the inside of the vehicle turn the heater
temperature on high and turn the fan speed on high.
1. Listen very closely for a click sound from the engine, ( most thermostats make a click when
they open )
2. Watch your temperature guage, it should begin to lower as the coolant starts to circulate.
3. Usually within a few minutes the radiator fan will kick.

I hope this helps you.

Heater fan runs for a short time and then sounds like someone holding playing cards in a bicycle tire. Then it quits for a while. I turn it off and ten minutes later it will blow for a while and then quit...

Your blower fan is most likely failing. It sounds like it is rubbing on the cage, which causes the motor to heat up and quit functioning. Once the motor cools down it will operate again. You will need to replace the blower motor and fan assembly.

Driver side power window goes down fine, when rolling back up it will go up about 2-3 inches and quit. You wait 5 minutes and it will go up another 2-3 inches. Wait another 5 minutes and you get another...

Motor is overheating due to drag in the window tracks or possibly shorted windings. Try using silicone lube spray in the tracks. If this doesn't work, you probably need a new motor.

My 2000 pontiac sufire dies while driving down the road. if i wait it will start up again. the longer i wait the farther i can go before it does it again. any solution to the problem?

Ignition coil or Ignition control module I would look towards the ignition control module.I had a 91 cavelier do the samething exact same and i tried everything to try and fix it,it turned out that it was the ignition control module. There will be 2 coils mounted onto that plate.It ran good till it warmed up,once warmed up it would stall and spitt and sputter,if left for awhile would start up and go good untill it warmed back up.Once the module would get warm it would quit working untill it cooled down
