It is a very bad idea to put cold water in a over heated engine. If you must first start the car and add the water slowly. This will allow the water to mix in with the hot water and not shock the block. But the best thing to do is let the engine cool before adding water. If you add cold water to a hot engine with the engine off and than start it the cold water will pass into the block and could cause the iron to contact unevenly and crack. Good luck.

02 Mazda mpv overheating and has a leak from rear passenger side in front of tire

could be something as simple as a hose needing to be replaced.could be as bad as water pump leaking. Really no way of telling without looking under the hood. My suggestion would be to fill it up with water, let it run untill leak starts again and then look to see where leak is located. Best to get someone who knows what to look for. Hope this helps

2000 MAZDA MPV TURNS OVER BUT WONT START. RAN FINE YESTERDAY. GOT IT TO START TODAY AFTER HOLDING GAS PEDAL DOWN BUT NOW ITS PUTTING OUT.

Sounds like you possibly got bad gas, or your at the bottom level of your gas tank and got the nasty stuff. Try running a good fuel treatment through the system and fill it up with premium gasoline from Marathon

My mazda mpv keeps overheating after i changed the water pump and thermostat.. how do i bleed my cooling system

It could be the radiator is bad. There is a plug located on the bottom of the radiator. Unscrew the plug and let the fluid drain, you should be able to see if there is rust or gunk in the water/antifreeze. Then use a garden hose and put it in the hole used to fill the radiator and let the water run.

How do i drain the fuel tank on 2001 mazda mpv

Why was this suggested? Did water get in it or another substance? If it's just been sitting in a safe place and it runs fine u should be ok. Go get some gas treatment and put it in there.
