SOURCE: 1993 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Likely you have a shift control module malfunction. Module is probably on the right side fender in the engine compartment. Check to see if you have one (some do and some dont... go figure...I've got a 91 & 95... I have about five different diagrams and NONE apply to my vehicles)

SOURCE: 2004 Jeep Wrangler - Clunking Noise when shifting out of Park

It could be lash in the differential which is normal, but it could also be a loose u-joint in the driveshaft. Check the rear driveshaft u-joints.

SOURCE: vacuum diagram for 1980 cj7 jeep 2.5 motor

You can use any vacuum port on the manifold for that. If you want to mess with it a bit, if you have an open port on the carb that is above the throttle plate, you can use that and see if performance is better. Some engines like it and some don't, but it's not like you have to take the engine apart to try it!!

I need to know how to remove the dash pad on a 1980 Jeep CJ7 so I can then remove the upper defrost duct.

There are four or five screws you have to fold the windshield down to get. Then there are usually two or three from the front going into the dash. You'll probably have to take the dash off too to get the defroster duct out.

I have a jeep cj7 with a 4.2 liter engine & a muncie 4 speed w/granny gear and i try to take off in second gear or even shift into second the jeep does not want to go or dies

I have not had this particular transmission apart, but it sounds like that gear may be locked up.......??? may need to have it fixed. If jeep runs in all the other gears, I would definately believe that it is in the second gear only.

1984 Jeep CJ7, Gear shifting / Linkage problem

likely the shift rails are worn inside the trans. In changing shift, you have removed the wear on the end of the stick, but not the corresponding wear where the stick fits into. It will need to be taken apart to repair this. (would not hurt to have synchros replaced at the same time.) OR, replace transmission if you have an inexpensive one available.
