Died while putting in gas, won't idle and sounds like its miss firing.

most deffinately something with the E.V.A.P. system.
besides screwing up your car, it is dangerous to put gas into any vehicle while it's running!

Its kind of hard to say with out knowing witch carbuator you have and what kind of fuel its running on or what year the engine is . If your missing a spring and your haveing idile issues i would geuss that it would be the spring to the governor witch is a lever on the side of the engine that should hook to a lever on the carb . its a floating spring and the faster the engines runs it pulls back on the throttle plate to keep the engine from running away . Its controlled by a vane inside the flywheel area that catches the force of the wind generater by the flywheel as it spins faster . The faster the engine runs the more drag on the vane and the more pull on the spring to the throttle plate to keep the engine under controll . This is a basic answer and if you know its missing a spring this is likely where it goes

Well, I would try to check the spark to make sure the ignition system is providing spark to the spark plugs. Then, I would check fuel pressure, to make sure that the injectors are getting enough pressure to provide gas to the cylinders, using a fuel pressure gauge on the rail.

Replaced ctm unit and truck won`t stay running.

there are 2 sensor on the carb . you may need to replace both to find out whiche one it is . try this also give it gas while starting and when it starts you will have to keep your foot on the gas a little to keep it running if it runs that way its one of the 2 senors .
