Question about 2011 Kia Sorento
On relatively cold mornings (slightly below freezing), my Sorento won't start - completed dead, does not turn over at all. By 10 am or so, once the temp has risen by a few degrees, it starts fine. The dealer tried changing the battery, but it didnt help. Their computer is not detecting any errors. It only happens in winter (last winter too). Any ideas?
Check the engine temperature sensor. There should be two of them, one that reports it inside of the car and one that reports it to the ECU. The one that reports it to the ECU has likely failed and needs to be replaced.

Testimonial: "Wouldn't their computer detect this if the sensor had failed and needed to be replaced?"

I had a similar problem with AC & Heater fan,it works on and off, and sometimes if the road was rough it runs, So I had to remove the fan clean it with a blower from dust and debris, then I installed it back and it is running ever since for more than a year without having to replace it.

you may of blown a fuse- this can happen if when you jumped it you had the wires backwards - it causes a voltage spike and can blow fuses

I have the same problem with my 2011 Kia Sorento. I have been googling it and I think it may be a bad brake sensor switch. Going to take it to the dealership on Monday. I had my battery tested (which I had replaced about 3 weeks ago) and it was fine. I found a video online that shows how to bypass the brake sensor . Push the start button once and then again and hold it the second time for about 15 seconds until it starts. Mine started right up
