Question about Mazda Protege

well, with all that you have changed the only two possible things that are left PCM and the ECM....
Do you have an alarm system on this vehicle? If you purchased this car second hand it may have something that is inhibiting the engine from firing. From what you have told us here that would be where I would start looking.

Most modern engines use 10/40 or similar.
20/50 was well used in older classic vehicle. I would ask at your parts supplier when purchasing the oil, he or she will have the correct specifications on hand from their oil supplier.

Vehicle speed sensor. See if you can buy one of those cheap OBD2 scan tools Wal-mart sells, and if you have a P0500 in the PCM, I would place my money on a broken sensor. It costs about $60
