Trying to recharge my a/c but dont know where the low pressure port on my 95 suburban.

Be aware I did it and I ended up paying about $900.00 for a new compressor in my '95 Suburban 2500 and to have all of my lines purged of metal fragments after the old one blew 2 days later! Only costs about $80.00 at an oil change joint to get the right amount set. If you don't have all of the pressure guages....was a disaster for me! My low pressure port was up near the oil cooler, high pressure by the firewall.

Air conditioning needs to have a dye put in to see why it lost pressure in the first place, unless you replaced a component.
the r134a is available everywhere, but you need a pressure gauge, and the service manual

A/C is a specialised job,do not use one of these silly top up tins, these should be banned because they can and do cause problems

Where is the low side port for ac charge located on engine for 2001 mountaineer

4.0L , 5.0L : Back near the firewall (Evaporator) above the accumulator/drier. The line will be cold /low pressure port.
Near radiator (Condenser) is hot/high pressure port

Be careful, if unsure do not risk it. If the system is leaking this will be a very temporary fix and probably needs the service of an experienced auto AC person.

What would be the problem with my ac on my 95 chevy ck1500 truck if the clutch want engage when the ac is turned on but will engage when you by pass it.

Hi, the system will not engage the clutch if the pressure is low. It is likely your system needs a recharge. Since you know how to bypass, you can recharge the system yourself by purchasing a can of refrigerant and using a A/C recharge hose on the low pressure port. Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5833579-auto_truck_c_recharge . These are genericinstructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Where is the low pressure port on a '08 town and country LX V6 Flex fuel? trying to recharge a/c ..i found two dust caps, but unable to identify low port.

the low pressure port is always the smaller fitting on the larger line. The high pressure port is always the larger fitting on the smaller line. They do this so that it is impossible to place the low pressure fitting on the high pressure port.

How do i recharge my air conditioner in my 2004 Volkswagon R32 . The a/c condenser goes on but the air does not get cold. i can buy the a/c charger at walmart but dont know where or how to charge it......

1. check your refrigerant pressure and if the reading is below 20 psi then ur gas is less
2. locate low pressure service port that reads L
3. start engine/ turn ac on
3. recharge gas to max pressure between 20 and 40 psi max.
4. feel the low pressure line if its cooling while ac is running...the job is done...

R134a recharger nozzle won't fit on low pressure service port.

The low pressure port on the 2003 grand am is actually behind the engine, near the firewall on the passenger side. Good luck getting your hose down there though, I ended up buying an extension hose.
