Question about 1999 Acura SLX
All cars can stall, even can be normal, (extreme cold climates)
there are simple tests to find the path..
check for loose or bad fuses.
1: lost 12vdc power to the EFI system (fuel and spark)
2: engine warms up and loses compression.
3: dead (dies on fly) or weak, spark or never ever tuned up.
4: bad fueling.
5: EGR sticks open (hard to save with fast right foot but can)
6: ISC stuck close, staving engine of air. (fast right foot saves easy)
those are macro reasons, we can break them all down to tests.
and when it stalls, attach a scan tool see if there are stored DTC error codes in memory.
if in extreme climates (N.Canada? say?) us the WOT trick in the operator guide. wot wide open throttle cranking clears flooding.
there are about 3 to 5 tests. with tools (cheap ) to find the cause.
some are free. (looking at spark plug tips is free)
a DIY man has hand tools and so they are free.
