If you pull back on the corners of the seat, you will find the bolts that hold it into place. Remove them to remove the seat. The bottom part kinda snaps in, so if you pull up really hard on the rear of the bottom seat, (where everyone loses their change) it should pop right up.

SOURCE: need to replace alternator on 1998 chevrolet monte carlo

Nope, it has two bolts one towards the front and one at the back underneath. Be careful of the one in the back as the nut is tricky to get on. You don't need to remove the bracket.

How do you remove the rear back seat to a 2002 chevy monte carlo

Most cars that do not have bolts are hook at the front end of the seat. You need push down really hard on the front end of the seat and pull the seat forward and up. This will unhook the latch. Good Luck

Vehicle compatibility

The "base" alternator in your car fits a wide range of vehicles. The pulley is easily removed with an allen key and wrench and the body can be taken apart and easily turned to match the plug position you need. (usually the rear portion is removed, brushes are re-installed and held in position with a paperclip,or toothpick, which is removed after the unit is bolted back together.
