Question about 2006 Renault Scenic 1.6
I used the maplin 85p fuse 10v 240w.Is it normal to be hot before inserting the resistor pack to its position? and why are no. 2&4 speed not working?
U have a faulty heater resistor, very common fault on these. unfortunately its not a simple case of unplugging it and plugging in a replacement though, due to the resistor overheating it damages the connections so when you buy one it will also come with the wire harness which needs to be cut and soldered into your existing harness.

Most likely to be a faulty resistor block, which has 3 resistors and a thermal fuse controlling fan speeds 1,2 and 3, maximum speed 4 by-passes the resister block. It may also be poor electrical connections to the resistor block caused by overheating. Renault ask for approximately £350 to carry out repairs, a replacement resistor block will cost £50. If you decide to carry out the repairs yourself, be advised that if you are not competent to carry out such work you, could cause electrical damage or worse an electrical fire.

Plug that goes onto resister pack may be heat damaged, our also needs replacing but you can clean it up to see if you can get it working on one speed to check fan motor....

not sure on later models to be honest ,check for a feed from switch first before you spend money .Normally speed 4 is a direct feed to motor on most cars but this is a dare i say it a RENAULT
