Aiki too thick, incomplete combustion. The main reason is the engine overload, lack of cylinder pressure, engine temperature is too low, the air filter clogging, and individual cylinder ignition does not work late and so on. When troubleshooting, it is timely to check whether the choke fully open, overhaul, if necessary; look after the flame from the mouth of the main nozzle carburetor, if oil injection or drip out, then float chamber oil level is too high and should be adjusted to the specified range tighten or replace the main jet; clogged air filter should be cleaned or replaced dredge.

Black smoke

Black exhaust smoke means the engine is burning too much fuel. The first think you should check is your air-filter and other intake components like sensors, fuel injectors and the fuel-pressure regulator. Other reasons could be a clogged fuel return line. Black smoke is usually the easiest issue to diagnose and fix, but burning unnecessary fuel will definitely affect your fuel economy, so don't think of avoiding this one to save money, it won't work.
Any smoke coming from your car's exhaust pipe is a sign that your car is in distress. Pay attention to what it needs to ensure more miles for your vehicle.

Black smoke from x5

Black smoke is a sign of engine overload, a restricted air supply, or a malfunctioning injector. For some reason, excess unburned fuel is being blown out of the exhaust.

Is a 93 rx7 with 40,000 kilomters a reasonable car to buy for 3500$ stock car auto

how does the exhaust look? when you rev up do you see blue or black smoke? if black smoke it just might need some new spark plugs and injector service how ever blue smoke is a sign of worn comperssion seals, which means an engine tear down or replacement, the choise is yours, it a good rebuild platform if you are up to it.

Black smoke is almost always an indication that the air/ fuel mix (ratio), is too rich. I would try to find out if the just cleaned the injectors or were they replaced. Cleaning injectors and sometimes leave irregularly shaped orifices. Besure the air filter is clean. This can effect mix also.
Good Luck and hope this helps.
