A/c temp on max 27 a/c temp on norm 50? - 2002 Ford F250 Super Duty SuperCab

    Is this degrees F?

Usually, the lowest you can get is 40 degrees F in normal mode. And Max is usually just about 5 degrees cooler.

At 27 degrees F, you will get icing of the evaporator and no flow of air from the vents.

When you are in Max mode, all you are doing is drawing air from inside the truck that is already cooled and dehumidified,

In Normal, you are drawing air from outside the trcuk that is warmer and more humid.

Was browsing the ford f-150 forum and found that Ford has a lot of issues with it's AC, some too hot and some like yours, way to cold. At MAX it should read around 42. Best 2 solutions I've found are:

  • Blend door/Blend door motor
  • Dirty EVAP coil
Here's a pic of what the Blend door/Motor look like and instructions on how to replace it. Wish you the best of luck.

Removal & Installation
  1. Release the stops and lower the glove compartment door.
  2. Disconnect the connector.
  3. Remove the two screws. Rotate the blend door actuator and bracket assembly. Remove the electronic blend door actuator and bracket assembly.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

98 5.9 Cherokee and it had grateful heat until I replaced thermostat. ...and both lines are not the same temp.not sure about water to antifreeze mix ...I was throwing tons of water sonot 50/50

get it back to 50/50 or 60/40 max as any thing less, the motor will freeze up in dead cold
as to your problem if one hose is hot and the other cold , then the problem will be in the heater control tap not turning the heater on properly

What temp should a/c be in 1995 chev on max

Hard to say.
Under normal conditions, vent temp should be about 20 or 25 degrees less than outside air temp.
So if outside air temp is 90 degrees and the engine is at idle speed, vent temp would be around 65 or 70. On the road the vent temp could be less than 60 degrees.
If outside air temp is 70 degrees vent temp will be around 40 - 50.

When i drive in the highway with the a/c the oil temp. come up and water temp go hi

Running at highway speed with A/C on will stress your vehicle's cooling systems as no other
combination of circumstances - so check/top up your motor oil, and check/top up your
coolant - and keep your coolant expansion/recovery tank up to the "MAX" line.
in terms of coolant mixtures, 50/50 is traditional, but the maximum coolant mixture acceptable
in a typical cooling system is actually 70% coolant to 30% (filtered/distilled) water.
With you vehicle, and your usage, you could consider
changing from the traditional 50/50 pre-mix to a 60/40 or a 70/30 ratio.
Your vehicle seems to functioning normally. Happy motoring.

Hi! I have a 2006 Saturn Vue 4 cylinder with 91,000 miles. I always keep my AC on max. The other day I turned the temp warmer. Well the next morning the AC stopped blowing cold air. I noticed before...

The car will idle funny due to the air-conditioner on ,when on it takes power from the motor about 10-20hp depennding, and with the air on all the time its robbing you of fuel mileage.put the temp back to cold and use norm-air max should be used to get real cold and then switch to norm.if you want warm air, then put on vent and stop wasting fuel, with a.c on when you have it on the red area.

Hi! What I've done in the past is purchase two 5 litre containers of the correct grade oil then carefully topped up until just showng below Max level on dipstick I run the car briefly to check for leaks and to fill up new oil filter I let it settle on level ground with engine switched off then top up slowly to correct level, Oh I think you'll find 6 litres is the Norm!

97 f 150 runs hot for minutes then runs ok

It could be a faulty thermostat. Did it do the same thing before u replaced the t-stat? It sounds like it's sticking closed, then all of a sudden it opens, coolant flows correctly. I'd consider changing it again. Check to make sure parts store is giving u the correct temperature thermostat also. Maybe it's too high for your Ford, delaying the opening.

Maximum A/C does not work properly

Max A/C does not change the temp of the air,it just re circulates the air inside the vehicle, on norm A/C it will draw in some air from the the outside.
