Ford focus problem

Probably warped the cylinder head or at the very least the cylinder head gasket is totally gone. Get a compression check, look to see if there is oil in your coolant tank or white gunge in your oil filler cap these are both signs of failure due to overheating.

I have a 2001 Focus that is showing a #3 misfire, changed the spark plugs and wires and it is still running rough? What next?

had the same thing with my crown vic on the #8 cylinder. changed plugs and wires. still missing. wound up replacing the coil pack. you can check resistence of the coil between companion spark plug towers. ford marks each tower with 2 cylinder #'s. resisistence should be around 10-12 ohms

Car was running ruff. missing and had no power. replaced plugs and wires that didnt fix it. then i pulled the wires one at a time from the coil pack and the #4 wasnt firing. so i replaced the coil and it...

with electronics the problem is when you fix one weakness in the curcuit it will go to the next.. the best thing you can do if its the ignition system causeing the problem is replace as much as you can afford, also having a clean fuel and air filter will help it run nicely
