Question about 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

2 Answers

Just bought a 2003 Alero GL2.When I push the switch to turn on the fog lights,I hear a "click" near the glove compartment ( I think ). The fog lights don't come on. The car is going,I have the low beams on or just the parking lights-nothing! What's the problem ? Also the light in the switch for AC doesn't come on. Got a feeling it'd be a heck of a repair job. Hope I'm wrong. Waiting for your answers.

Lets tackle the fog lights first. Listen & locate that click, could be faulty relay so lets find it. Have you tried probing wires at fog lamps with test light to see if power there when switch on?

My fog lights won't work but switch shows power, however when hit the switch can hear the relay on passenger side fuse box can hear it click does that need replaced

Hi, if the light on the switch is coming on, the relay is fine. Unless both bulbs are burned out, the problem is in the wiring between the relay and the lights. I recommend you trace the wiring backward from the passenger side fog light to the power box under the hood to see if the wire is cut. There should be two wires coming out of the power box--one going to each fog light. If the wiring looks good, it is also possible that the ground to the lights is bad.

Signal lights dont work and want to know where the fog light switch is at

With the switch in sidelight or dip

position, pull the switch to its first

position to turn on the front fog lights.

Pushing the switch in or turning it to OFF
or AUTO will turn off the front fog lights (this is for the front)

With the switch in any position except

OFF or AUTO, pull the switch to its

second position to turn on the rear fog

lights. This will also turn on the front fog

lights unless main beam is selected.

Pushing the switch in or turning it to OFF
or AUTO will turn off the rear fog lights (this is for the rear)

What causes my 96 chevy blazer fog lights to flash while my headlights are on and also can hear a flickering noise in the relay box in the glove compartment. also what causes my turn signals to flash...

you have a bad ground issue with your turn signals or your relay is on its way out. Easy 8 dollar fix and it may even square away the problem with the fog lights. Let me know how it turns out.

Fog lights stay on when jeep is on/off. possible electrical problem?

may be a stuck relay. look in the engine compartment relay box. Find the fog lamp relay. Pull it out--the lights should go out. Push back in--does it click when you do? If it clicks, the switch is shorted on--replace fog light switch. If it doesn't click but the lights come on anyway, the relay is shorted on. Let me know if you have more questions.

How do I replace the fog light assembly on a 2000 Olds Alero?

you replace the fog lamps by going under front bumper fascia.remove the pushpins and take down the splash shield to access the back of the fog lamps.then you remove two bolts retaining the fog lamp to the back of front bumper.besure to wear clean gloves.because fog lamps is halogen bulbs.if you touch with bare hands the oils from hands will make the bulbs over heat and blow out.

Same 1991 w/starting problem

open the door and listen for a click from under the car (starter solenoid). If you hear that click, along with the one coming from
the glove compsartment(starter relay), it's the wire between the starter solenoid and the relay...If you only hear the one click from the glove compartment( it's actually in the passengers door pillar), it's the starter relay ($15)
