Question about 1998 Plymouth Voyager

1 Answer

Can a tire size of 205/75/15 fit on a 1998 Plymouth Voyager Espresso, without modifications?

Espresso option. No special speed options needed. Its just that my friend has brand new tires for sale since her car's tranny broke and its not worth the price to fix it. I need new tires and we wanted to know if they were compatible.

SOURCE: 1998 Plymouth Voyager does not shift to 3rd gear when driving,3.3

It's in limp home mode. You'll have to check wire connections and electronic controls. If it has a vacuum modulator you can remove it and look for trans fluid on the vacuum hose side (meaning ruptured diaphram). Double check the parts you replaced as well, especially if they were used parts. My dad went through three speed sensors in one year on his Caravan. You should drop the pan after checking other components. It could be a bad relay, shorted module or wire. The three speed transmissions are much more reliable than the four speed overdrive transmissions but with age and miles things can go wrong and parts will wear out.

You can try and spray some lube on the assembly and the cable. If this doesn't work, you will need to cut the cable and get a new spare tire holder.

SOURCE: need to know the tire size...

Ok, if it is the base model the tire size from the factory is 205/ 70 r15. Otherwise it is 205/70 r14. Obviously the difference is the rim size which you can get by measuring with a tape measure. Measure the rim diameter and if it is 14 across then it is the second one, if it is 15 across it is the first one. The tire shop can also help with this. FYI, the cheapest place I have found for new tires is Walmart.

Air bag light just came on my '98 plymouth voyager. where is it located & how can I turn it off?

Airbag is located in center steer column cover and under upper dash area on passengers side. Only way to shut light out is have service look at it. It is a safety feature without options.

I have a 1998 Plymouth Voyager and I need to put on studded tires. It currently has tires with this number: P215/65R15. What size of sudded tire should I put on? Is there a range available or only one...

If i were you i would put the same size studded tire on it as you have on it now.. if you change the tire size it will throw your speed ometer off.. they make them in most every size for all vehicles... i would definately stick with the P215/65R15s. hope this helps

I have a 2002 chevy tracker, can I put 215/15 tires on it without doing something to suspension. It's not a ZR2

the correct size is listed on the drivers door jamb. if you put a taller tire on, the speedometer will read slower than you are actually going. As long as nothing rubs when you are turning right or left it should be ok, make sure you have at least 1 inch of clearance everywhere.

Hate to say it but not very likely. Mine cost me $1500 for a rebuilt. Doesn't hurt to check a few local shops that deal with transmissions.
