Changing the fuel filter on '94 Plym. Aclaim

I'm having a great deal of trouble locating the fuel filter and then how to go about changing it. The lines disappear back from the carburetor and forward of the tank. Also haven't been able to find the fuel pump. Is it in the tank?

There is only 1 filter, its under the passenger side of the car, right before you get to the back tire... its a silver round thing, should be real easy to find cause nothing else under there has hoses going to it.
These fuel filters are hosed and connected with original crimped and tabbed connectors. You will need a special tool to remove, found in most auto parts stores.
If you like to completely tune-up your acclaim. You can remove these factory crimped hoses and buy some replacement hose and clamps to make it easier next time. The tool used to remove the original hose clamps are very difficult and tricky to work.

Sorry the fuel pump is in the gas tank:
Drain the fuel tank if possible.
Support fuel tank with something such as a trans jack or a regular jack with wood on it so it wont hurt the tank.
Remove straps.
Lower tank just enough so you can remove all connections such as wire and hoses.
Remove tank from under the vehicle.
It is held in with a lock nut, take a screw driver and a hammer and gently tap on it till it starts to move.
Remove fuel pump from tank.
Install new pump and put tank back, make all connections and your done.

Before you do all that check the Fuel Pump relay, it's between the battery and the drivers side fender in one of those little black boxes.

Good luck and hope this helps

1998 volvo s70 part question

Fuel line is about it. Any part for a volvo is extremely hard to find. Where exactly is it leaking at? If it is a plastic type hose you should be able to look in the ends and there are o rings in there that can be replaced versus changing out the whole hose. If it is a metal one most auto part stores can make a new one. I might be able to find the oem part number for you and then you can google the number to find the hose. Let me know if you are interested in that.

My 2004 suburban has been having trouble starting, after changing the fuel pump and filter i figured that would solve it. but, coincidentally it didn't work still, it starts up, barely, and then putters...

either its a fuel problem or a crank sensor ,ask a local mechanic to have a look for you as i can tell you what to change but you could spend a fortune on parts and its something simple ,modern vehicles are not like the oldtimers and are extremely complicated and just changing parts is not the soloution

How do i change fuel filter

Fuel filters on this vehicle are usually located on the drivers side fire wall and do not require alot of skill, however they are dealing with fuel, so you must execute care when changing the filter. make sure the key is off and disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the fuel cap from the tank to release any back pressure. Next remove the two clamps holding the fuel lines to the filter, and remove the lines. next remove the through bolt mounting the filter to the mount. repeate the process to install

98 f-150 check light po-170&po171 help

!70 and 171 are lean mixture codes, I'd start by changing the fuel filter. It's located under the truck, inside the frame rail, just about right under the drivers seat. The fuel lines are under pressure so you have to relieve the pressure before you disconnect the lines. You can let the vehicle sit for at least a 1/2 hour with the key off, or find the pressure test port on the fuel rail (on top of the engine) and bleed the pressure off there. You are going to need a special tool(s) to disconnect the lines. Helpfull hint push the line on to the filter while you insert the release tool(s), a little WD-40 or penetrating oil helps. Keep in mind your dealing with gasoline, keep your hot trouble light far away so there is no chance of gas splashing onto the hot bulb.

2002 wont turn over changed fuel filter not working fuel pump ?

The pump is located in the fuel tank. But i would not recommend changing it yourself unless you know how. But if the engine wont turn over sounds like you have other trouble. Like battery,starter.....

Changing the furl filter on my 2003 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG

Hi

It´s under the car, next to the fuel pump, near the rear diff, on the passenger side. You cant miss it, and its easy to change, just make sure the car is supported safely on axle stands, catch any excess fuel from the old filter in a container, and no smoking !

Don´t forget to give me a FixYa rating Please !!!!!!

Good Luck

John.
