Gas tank is full but electronic dash reads empty 1995 cadillac

I am wondering if it could be the fuse since it just went out like a fuse problem. The dash is completely electronic with no type of tachometer reading only digital reading from everything and while on the freeway all of the sudden it showed empty so I pulled over and filled the tank and it is still reading empty.

Doesn't hurt to ck fuses but the dealer more than likely knows exactly where to go . Any other readouts stop functioning? Sounds like sending unit failure. If so, tank may have to cme down - Good Luck.

Gas hand reads full all the time

Fuel gauge may be the problem, but may also be a short in wires going to fuel gauge
Battery power goes to gauge in dash then to resistor in tank to ground. If the wire going to tank is shorted to frame it will always read full. Test this by disconnecting the wire going to the tank. If it goes to empty then you know the reason, either resistor in tank is bad or wire shorted.

Gas gauge does not work

there is a floater in the gas tank that causes the gauge on your dash to read empty to full.

My 1999 cadilac devilles digital dash reads full all the time and i ran out of gas. what could be the problem?

The tank is empty. The fuel sending unit is most likely bad. It can be taken out from the trunk area without dropping the tank.

Gas gauge is not reading correctly. Shows a full

the problem is caused by a defective gas gauge sending unit, this part is located inside the gas tank, you must remove the gas tank to replace it.

1995 Mitsubishi mirage. no gas to fuel injector and i do not hear the fuel pump when i turn on the ignition switch. also gas tank is full and the fuel gage reads empty on the dash board. can not locate...

i would replace the fuel pump. and the reason your gas gage is not reading what it is supposed to be is because the sending unit is prob bad. both of which are in the gas tank. im not sure on that year but i think you can remove the back seat or a piece of the trunk to get to both of them. if not the gas tank will need to be dropped to get them out

E FLASHES AS IF EMPTY BUT HAS A FULL TANK OF GAS

I would check the float in the tank. I have this same problem on a Ford van. The float got a leak and filled full of gas, making it stay at the bottom of the tank and showing that it is empty. The fix is to replace the float, which unfortunately is a big problem, as you have to drop the tank or cut a hole in the bottom of the trunk or floor in the van like I did, so I could keep working on it, with a full tank.

You might want to check that this is how your fuel is measured, as some of them are electronic, so you might have to replace the whole fuel pump assy to be able to replace the sensor. You should be able to find this out with a call to your dealer.

I have a 95 Eldorado out in my back yard for parts, if you think this is the problem and mine wil fit, I can cut it out for you and send the whole unit to you.
