Difficuty on acceleration at about 80km

This toyota seems to run out of go at about 80k, if you kick down it will eventually change into top. Could be fuel shortage (where is the fuel filter?) or is the transmission at fault.

Thanks for the prompt solution. Took the car to toyota dealers and the fault is in the HT leads shorting out, So FixyYa wasn't much help! Not happy with a half dozen words as a solution from your Expert.

Our toyota has been with our local small garage

sounds to me like who ever changed the cam belt did not line up the timing marks psoperly, these marks ensure the engine valve timing is set correctly, if the timing marks are not set properly, the car runs rough, and lacks power...hence the reason for the marks......makes the car run like its only on 3 cylinders, instead of four...the effect is, lack of power, bad starting, running rough....eventually this will lead to more severe engine problems, affecting the turbo, valve cylinders, oil seals, valve stems, excessive cam wear, shim wear, and eventual sieze of engine
