SOURCE: Vauxhall astra 1.4 16v Idles fine but will not rev

Some cars with an ecu have a default setting whereby they run but only at idle. Go to your local Vauxhall dealer, look sweet and ask the service people if they can offer any idea, I mean the mechanics not the counter staff who generally don't know a handbrake from a halfshaft.
Or go on line and scour the astra owners helplines to see if its a common problem.
Don't spend a penny in a garage without checking all possible areas first. Like the other answer, it may just be a cable or electrical plug come off.

Qadra fire mt Vernon non ae feed uger runs in revere

For an electric motor to run in reverse the start windings have to be reversed at the terminal. To lock up indicates that the start windings are not getting power. All these are controlled by the start/run capacitor which is the normal failure point on electric motors. Take the motor to an accredited electrical shop and have it tested

Car wont start with key but will start with push

Sounds like your Battery is on the way out friend, and not turning the engine over fast enough. A push start always turns the engine fast.via the gears.
New Battery Time !!!!! Save getting puffed out pushing.

My car won't sart I'm pretty sure its the starter, I'm going to replace it tomorrow but I need to drive it to the shop. I heard from a friend that u can hit it with a hammer twice and it will start. Is tis...

The starter is located next to the oil pan near where the engine meets the transmission. This sometimes works if the motor is seized a little or has stop in a dead section of the motor. I have tried this a dozen times on a dozen cars and it did work once but i had to tap it more than twice. Be sure not to hit to hard as to damage anything else. I hope this helps!! Thanks!!

2001 avalon winshield wiper motor location and wiper regular location . Wipers dont work all the time after last freeze here

check the fuses under the dash and under the hood

failing that go to auto zone they can show you the location and quote the parts price too
remem ber to turn on wipers and turn on ignition dont start the car look under hood listen for winding noise locate noise locate wiper motor

if making wiring noise remove and re conect wiper arms inside as they are prone to poping off if over loaded like when frozen to wind screen they pop the conector rather than burn the motor out ]

Intermittent blower motor failure

A broken/burned motor winding will do exactly this. If you measure it when cold it will look good. The broken/burned winding will only open from heat expansion.
