A "diagram" of the water pump? Are you looking for replacement instructions? If so, it would be really helpful if you were to mention WHICH ENGINE your 2002 Ford Ranger is equipped with.

How do i tighten the timing belt on my 1989 pontiac

I assume you are replacing the belt and also the waterpump, the waterpump is what tightens the timing belt, it spins in the housing in an oval shaped housing and tightens or loosens the belt, you need to loosen the waterpump bolts and rotate the pump to tighten the timing belt, make sure theres a small amount of slack in the belt after you tighten it, you dont what the belt too tight, you should be able to grab belt and move in and out an inch. heres a diagram to make sure all timing marks are lined up. note if the timing belt is being replaced you really should install a new waterpump and check the timing pulleys. good day.

How much will it cost to replace a water pump on 1997 chrysler lhs v6.

the waterpump on this car is turned by the timing belt, when you replace the waterpump on this car the timing belt should be replaced no doubt about it, the timing belt must be replaced and also the pulleys checked and if the car have 100,000 miles or more the timing belt pulleys must be replaced. the reason for this is that if for any reason the belt jumps or breakes then engine damage will occur, the pistons will bend the valves and this is very costly, there is no extra labor to do the belt it has to be removed to do the waterpump you would just pay for the parts, for example to do a waterpump it would run about $400.00, then to do it right with a waterpump timing belt and pulleys it would run 500.00,i think its a wise thing to do.this car only uses one pulley that needs replacing so i said pulleys but rather just a pulley that runs in this belt design. good day, heres a few diagrams to help explain how it works.johnjohn2_126.gifjohnjohn2_127.gifjohnjohn2_128.gif

I am trying to change the serpentine belt on my 1994 Dodge Caravan and the new belt keeps slipping off. Looking at the belt diagram, the bottom right pulley seems to be loose and the cause of the problem....

This all depends on the engine size, there are four types of engines that come in this van , but at the bottom right its the waterpump or the a/c compressor, if its the ac then you will need to replace the compressor but if its the waterpump the pulley is not the problem but rather the waterpump is bad, grab a hold of the pulley and see if it shakes if it does then the waterpump is bad and also you should be leaking some coolant if its the pump, here are a few diagram to help you._46.gif_47.gif_48.gif

Procedure on changing waterpump

  1. first drain the cooling system.
  2. loosen bolts on the waterpump pulley and remove the inner fender cover on the pass/side.
  3. remove the surpentine fan belt, note; make a diagram of the belt routing so belt will go back on the right way.
  4. remove the bolts you loosened on the pump pulley, use a pry bar to pry engine back to have enough room to remove the waterpump pulley.
  5. remove the bolts holding waterpump, you will want a pan under the van to catch coolant when waterpump is removed,
  6. remove the pump and clean old gasket off the block and install new pump,
  7. reverse to install new pump and fill system with coolant allow engine to run until thremostat opens, hope this is helpful. heres a few diagrams of the waterpump and the cover and the belt routing, good luck and hope this is helpful.

Need to replace water pump would like a diagram to follow how to do it

If I were you, I would go to an autoparts store and purchase a Haynes Repair Manual for your particular vehicle. It should give you detailed instructions on how to change the waterpump in your vehicle. Anytime I get a different vehicle, I always get a repair manual for it. You really need one if you are going to do repairs yourself; it is a well spent $15, since the procedures for doing things are different for different vehicles. Hope this helped.
