I used to pull a motor and put another one in and switch all the parts and rewire the car to match the engine and have it running in 17 hours with one helper when i was 20. Just pulling out might take 2 or 3 hours

Does the motor mounts have to be seperated to change the rearmain seal and oil pan gasket?

Hi Brian:
Don't know what you're working on, but my personal preference is to do the job right so if I was to have a project that I cared about, I'd pull the motor and do a real once over before it got re-installed.

Sometimes you can remove the pan with the engine in, but it's way nicer to do with the engine out and upside down on a stand.

you will need to replace the automatic trunk pulldown assembly to fix this, this is a common problem.

Trunk Latch will not pull closed.

The small switch is the trunk by the pull down motor with the flap that depresses down is at fault. That is what you call the truck pull down switch. You can take this part and show it to a Cadillac or Ford parts department sales person and get a replacement for you car. Ford uses the same part for their Lincolns and Crown Vic's. The part is made by the very same supplier for Ford & GM. Ford will sell this part at a much lower cost as well compared to GM

How to put driver window back up

Hello. The driver's side power window motor assembly is usually the first one to go due to the amount of use it gets. Eventually you will have to replace the power window motor and track assembly for that window. But for now you can actually grab ahold of the glass with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the window up. Once you get it up a couple of inches you can probably pull it up most of the way by yourself. To get it all the way up you need to recruit the help of a second person. then with one person on each side of the glass you should be able to push it all the way up. This will at least secure the car until the power window motor and track assembly can be replaced. Regards, Joe

The power window in my 1997 Pontiac Gran Am is unable to go up! all we need is for it to just go up. we can hear the motor when you are clicking to go down but not when it goes up. we would just like to...

Obviously the window motor is bad, With 2 people, open the door and have 1 person grab the window with both hands, fingers and pull up while the 2nd person works the button. This may take several attempts, and pausing to maybe let the motor reset it self as it will be overheating. The only other way to do it if this doesn't work, is to remove the door panel and disconnect the whole assy.

On low speed there is a ticking in the fan as though something was rubbing. The noise goes away on higher speeds. How can I remove the heater motor to see if there is something rubbing. This is on a 2005...

It's on the pasenger side of the truck. Where the persons feet would be if sitting there. Lay down on your back and look up under the dash. There will be you blower motor. There are three gold or siver colored 5.5mm headed bolts holding it up to the heater case. Pull those out and the blower motor will drop down. Also you will need to remove the electrical connector before pulling the screws out. I will bet a peice of paper has been sucked out of you glove box and is in the blower motor. Be sure to note the position of the blower motor, it can only go in one way.
