It could very likely be a frost plug. If you want to fix it stick a block heater in it.

SOURCE: water leaking bad from front of motor.

freeze plugs will be located towards bottom of the engine. It could be the water pump, or a bad hose.

SOURCE: leaking anti-freeze from top of motor

Dex Cool Antifreeze likes to eat seals and gaskets. My Guess! That the exhaust gasket is leaking on the back side of the engine.
It is a common and expensive problem GM products have.
You could try stop leak (NEVER DUMP THE WHOLE CONTAINER IN! It can plug the system up!) To use, when cool, open the radiator cap, and take a teaspoon full of the stop leak and put in ( run engine to full temp) and watch for a week (Did it slow down or stop?), if still leaking repeat the above. Barring this working, it is very pricey to replace that gasket. It worked for me.

there are a couple of ways to fix the problem. first you can use pepper to plug the hole if it is a small leak. If it isn't, then use radiator stop leak. You can find this at a parts store

SOURCE: have water leaking in front

You don't say which engine you have but if I were you I would get a cooling system tester and test your cooling system. Very simple to use you just remove your radiator cap and install the tester and pump it up to the PSI listed on your radiator cap. You may be able to rent one. After you pump it up watch for the leak and pinpoint it. Not knowing which engine you have, I'm guessing the 4.3 liter. I believe there is a heater hose connector in the right hand side of your intake manifold. Those are common for leaking. I'm not sure where your compressor is located. Also you may have an intake manifold gasket leaking which is common. With the tester you should be able to trace it down. Also it is possible that your new pump could be faulty or it it possible that you didn't get the gasket surface area clean?

I have a water leak near the front passenger sideof the motor its above the oil pan near a freeze plug but its not the freeze plug that i can see is there another freeze plug maybe behind the motor mount?

If the car is at operating temperature and the water is cool then it could just be air conditioning condensation.. Air conditioning units are usually located at the passenger side of the engine. If it is cool water it is nothing to worry about.

Freeze Plug Leak on my 1996 GMC Jimmy

i would hardly call this repair simple or inexpensive. the part itself yes the labor probably not. i have made this repair myself to my 97 jimmy if you have 4 wheel drive the transfer case up front makes this repair next to impossible from the underside of the car plus the fact that it is behind the motor mount means the the mount must be removed. this involves raising or removing the motor. simple? on a car of this age you will probably find (as i did) the motor mounts are damaged might as well replace them too the parts are fairly inexpensive. also look into replacing all the plugs so you dont have to do this again in a few years. oh yea use the proper antifreeze mix in your radiator water is what rusts out the plugs
