Question about Nissan Pickup

1 Answer

Hi i have a 1997 Nissan Terrano ll 2.7td SE TOURING

And i have a tapping noise coming from the engine, it mainly happens when the engine is cold (from starting) and when warm it sometimes stops. the noise gets faster in time with the revs of the engine. i have checked the oil level and it is fine, i do have a slight oil leak on front of engine and on the side just under the inter cooler but nothing serious. any help greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: The oil pressure is low at idle and rises with higher engine revs. Oil levels are ok, new oil approx 2000kms ago. Was a slight noise at one stage in the engine but went away after engine's revs in

It sounds as if the clearance that the bearings normally run in have been surpassed and need to be replaced. Higher engine revs will supply extra oil which will overcome any small discrepencies but constant running at this stage will result in faster degradation of all engine components concerned resulting in a more expensive repair. Shes basically worn out.

Hi. Could you tell me which fuse controls the electric aerial. Nissan terrano ll 1996 import.

typically the fuze is under the hood. It is a inline fuze attached to the antenna motor.. I may be hidden under the fender, so find the motor for the antenna and follow the wires till you come upon the fuze holder. It comes apart with a twist, be sure to replace with the same value fuze. 2 amp usually. It has been my experience that these fuzes blow because of a short in the wiring or a short in the motor itself. so if your replacement fuze blows right after you put it in, you have more than a fuze problem.

ABS FAULT WITH NISSAN TERRANO YREG

Had same fault - was damaged wiring in loom at back of engine where main engine harness meets the bulkhead.

There is a screened cable grey/pink that houses the two O/S/F ABS wires blue and pink. The loom copex cuts through the ABS cable causing this fault. Take a look at link below:

This only happens when the Car is Cold???? It is the Exhaust Manifold. You need to Replace the Exhaust Manifold Gasket and check the Rest for Tightness.

check and see if you get water/coolant circulates when you have the cap off (only check from cold start) the original water pump came with a plastic impeller and tends to strip on the shaft also check your thermostat before replacing water pump.
