This could be due to a poor power connection - maybe a bad splice or something that loosens periodically.

Look in the owners manual and see if they have a circuit breaker or relay instead of a fuse. It could be bad and you would not see it.

Go to auto zone or O'reilley auto parts and buy the chilton Ford Probe 1989-1992 Repair Manual. Best source to fix almost anything on your Probe.

The check engine light will represent fault codes that the computer is sensing. Have a mechanic, or go to your local auto parts superstore and have them scan for the fault codes. This will at least give you an idea about some of your problems.

SOURCE: 1990 ford festiva no power to fuel pump. replaced

The pump should have a fuse in the fuse block. You need to check for power in the fuse block and you need to check power to the pump relay.

Sometimes there is a fusible link to the Relay. If you check the connector terminals for power where the Relay plugs in, you can determine if the fusible link has blown. You could have already replaced the bad parts and now need to restore power to the Relay.

Ford had a recall for the seat belt not working, contact a Ford dealer near you to see if your car fall in that recall it would likely be free.

I have a 1990 Ford Probe. Last Thursday, I drove it to work with absolutely no problems but by the time I got out of work, the car wouldn't start. We tried it quite a few times but nothing. It didn't try...

Check the battery connections and cables. A loose cable or corrosion on a connector can give intermittent shorting that will prevent the car from starting/running. Your problem may be solved by simply tightening/replacing a cable or cleaning the battery posts.

duck tape on the air intake. I just fixed mine. There is a crack on the intake that lets too much air in when you put it in drive that makes the car stall. Try it it works.
